Strengths:Light
Weaknesses:uncomfortable. This seat is like riding on an iron. Shame on Giro.
Similar Products Used:Selle Italia Gel, specialized body works

Bottom Line:This seat sucks. It broke after only a dozen rides.

Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Purchased At:came stock on bike
Strengths:Looks great, extremely light.
Weaknesses:Very expensive, not very comfortable.
Similar Products Used:Vetta Gel, Trico Gel, Titec Berserkr DH (very nice).
Bike Setup:Stock 2000 Schwinn Homegrown Comp with bar ends.
Bottom Line:The bottom line is that I can't believe that a fellow reviewer could consider a 50 plus mile ride on this anvil. I'd sooner ask Pele to kick me in the sac for five or six continuous hours. Truth be told, I didn't give this seat the proper break-in period, but my rump just couldn't handle it! Don't put yourself through this, and DO NOT lay down a nickel for this thing at your LBS. If it comes stock on your rig, swap it out before you leave the shop. At this point, I'd trade mine for a used bottle cage. One flaming hemorhoid for (and thanks to) this seat.

Strengths:Looks Great. Has Ti rails.
Weaknesses:Uncomforatble
Bike Setup:Stock '93 Trek 2100 road bike
Bottom Line:I am not really a racer, but the other categories didn't fit either. I ride my road bike a few times a week on a 15 mile ride to stay in shape to Mt. bike. Anyway, I have a '99 Pave Twintech seat and I can't seem to find a way to make it comfortable. I am 6' and 165 lbs, if this thing is too narrow for me then it must really have a limited market. I will tolerate it until I can afford another seat. If I was going to do a long ride (50+ miles) I would put my old San Marcos SA 600 saddle back on, which is also uncomfortable. Come to think of it, I may do that anyway.
Of course, saddles are very subjective and what is uncomforatble to me may be fine for someone else.

Price Paid: $75.00
Strengths:Light weight
Great looks
Firm feel
Weaknesses:Delicate leather
Bike Setup:in the process of buying a new Italian steel road bike w/ Campy Chorus 10spd & Mavic Open Pro wheels
Bottom Line:Well, for the first 3 months, I loved this saddle. After an initial break in period, it's comfortable, light and looks great. After logging 2000 miles this summer on it, I never once had a problem with numbness or pressure points.

Then I took it to Alaska for a 5 day, 500 mile charity ride from Fairbanks to Anchorage. Granted, the weather and conditions were miserable (snow, sleet, torrential rain, gravel, rough roads) and the saddle was probably not designed for such extreme conditions, but within a day, the leather had bleed its black pigment all over my shorts & rain pants and the leather at the nose had peeled off!!! There's no way I should have to duct tape a $75 saddle within 6 months of purchase - I don't care if I take it to hell and back.

Next time, I'm buying a Selle Italia.

Favoriate Trail:I ride the roads...
Duration Product Used:6 months
Strengths:Pretty Light. Long rails smooth things out a bit more from flex compaired to standard ones. Great looking, and the gel version isn't nearly as gaudy as the Flite Gel.
Weaknesses:Not for wide pelvis people. Some might not like the very long nose. Retails for about $100 which is steep.
Similar Products Used:Flite, San Marco made Bontrager Saddles, Specialized Body Geometry Comp, and some crappy no-name brand one which made my nads sore for day's at a time.
Bike Setup:Binchi EV2 with 10 speed record.
Bottom Line:I just wanted to point something out to all of those who complain about weight (not that it's high or anything at 250-280 grams): Since the rails on the saddle protrude from the bottom of the shell further than standard saddles by about an inch, you don't have to have your seatpost out as far and can therefore cut more material off your post which saves an additional 15-40 grams depending on how much your post sucks. This is a great saddle for people with narrow pelvis' like myself. It really contours my body better than previous saddles. And if you've got any taste at all, after one look you'll accept that this is the sweetest looking saddle of all. I haven't had any confort issues which I have with others, and I'm not standing up in the midle of the ride to re-situate myself as much as I used to. The version with the twin-tech gel is a great saddle for the aesthetically concious racer type who has narrow hips. A bit more expensive than the Flite Gel, but this one has my preference.

Bottom Line:Ok, you gotta get used to the hard seat, so you better get your butt hardened with some more riding, you whiners.

The narrow profile keeps it out of the way.

I guess the crooked swimmer problem varies from person to person, but I've never had numbness with it, not even on 3 hr. roller rides (ugh).

Strengths:It looks really cool and all the guys who see me at the trail head think that I must be really fast cause I have nice components on my bike. I got them fooled! At least I am a cool mountain biker...
Weaknesses:It isn't as light as the other guy's saddle who just started riding last week. Oh yeah, its not color co-ordinated to the rest of my bike but that is my fault.
Similar Products Used:a yellow seat that had suspension. The suspension in the seat blew out about as fast as every suspension fork on the market is programmed to do.

Weaknesses:
A little hard to move forward on on steeper climbs.
Bike Setup:
Full-supspension RM Element Race w/Bomber Z-3 lights.
Bottom Line:This is a good all-around saddle. I had one put on my new bike because I wanted one that didn't put so much pressure on my lower tailbone area since it was developing a rather uncozy sort or pain. I have used it on long rides, and I am impressed that so little seat can provide so much comfort. It is not too bad sliding back and forth on, but the leather is not quite as easy as my old Bontrager Plus 10 (which by the way is an excellent seat for pretty cheap). My only sniveling I must do is in trying to move forward on steeper climbs. The pointy scant saddle nose is not exactly easy to hang out on while trying to ride the real inclines. I either have to get used to it or go back to my old Plus 10. But, I am not ready yet to give up on the Fizik. I think it is good for my butt, not to mention other parts of my anatomy. Just gotta get used to that thing when I climb. I have a women's Vitesse by the way with Ti rails.

Bottom Line:

I have been riding the Fizik Nisene for a few months now and it is an excellent saddle. It is very comfortable for a racing style saddle, and the little bit of suspension goes a long way on a hard tail frame. This saddle has a great new look to it and seams to hold up very well on offroad riding. I work in a shop and have tried many other brands but think the Nisene is the best saddle for the money. Some others have complained about the black leather bleeding when it gets wet. Just take some mink oil and rub a small amount into the leather. It waterproofs the leather and keeps the die from coming out (this applies to any leather saddle). You will want to let the saddle set for a few days after you apply the mink oil because it is a little slick until it dries. So get your butt on a Nisene saddle and ride on!

It's a litle hard to understand how this saddle could be so comfortable, given that the padding is thin and hard, but it is. I just wish that I had read the reviews before I bought mine, because I would have gone for the natural-colored one instead of the black one that appartently has dye that bleed, even though I have never experienced that fault for myself. But anyway, this is the best saddle that I have ever sat my butt on. Stan

After trying several Terry saddles, the Julie Furtado Selle San Marco, and the Avocet H2O for Women, - was I ever glad to find the Fizik Vitesse! Despite initial reservations due to how hard the saddle appeared, I was enthused that my seat was the only spot on my body that didn't ache after an endless 10-hour road odessey on a day when the temperatures soared well past the mid-90's! This is the best saddle I've ever ridden! There was no long break-in period and after two months of riding it, it's still the most comfortable and supportive saddle I've ever had. Sit bones are fully supported and sensitive tissue is not irritated. A definite keeper!

I would say this is the best looking saddle on the market.
But don't expect it to be too comfortable. If you ride long distances about 2 hours
you gotta wear bike shorts. But the quality of the saddle is very good, the suspension effect is great, especially for hardtails, it's really an advantage.
An after a longer time of use the saddle fits on your body and gets more comfortable.Buy this thing rather than the flite. The flite has got a painful front
and of course, everybody got one. But don't forget an extra kryptonite lock for this thing.

I would highly recommend the Giro Fizik Nisene to anyone looking for a serious, minimalist saddle that's more comfortable than a Flite. It's a little hard, but feels just as comfy after 3-4 hours in the saddle as when you start. And Giro's customer support is the best. I once totally obliterated a Giro helmet in a mid-race wreck, and Giro sent me a new one for free - such a deal! Now if they could just lower the price a bit.....

In my old bike I used to have a San Marco Rolls road saddle, which was great comfort but a bit too wide (like most of the road saddles). The new bike came with a Flite, which I couldn't stand for its lack of comfort, so I bought the Giro: not as comfortable as the San Marco, but nice anyway, and narrow enough for the mountain. The bad point is the value for the money: its not the same quality as S. Italia or San Marco, and it's even more expensive.

This is the most comfortable saddle I've found in years! I had a men's Vetta VSA shock absorber saddle, but the gel turned to rock last winter. The new ones with the vinyl covers just aren't the same. So, I tried a Vitesse on my road bike and loved it, so I got one for off-road, too. The rails are relatively tall and long, so that provides some give. The padding is firm where your sit-bones go, and softer where your soft-tissue sits. The shell is also recessed, reducing pressure on soft tissue. I always found the nose-cutouts of Terry and copy-cat saddles to be too far forward to be useful. The saddle is also not really wide like so many women's seats. The only negative is that the black leather dye rubs off on my thighs and soaks through my shorts on to me when I sweat a lot. I'm usually headed straight for the shower after a sweaty ride anyway, so this is not a really big deal.

Finally, a women's saddle that is not a mile-wide mattress! Leather cover, firm padding over a truly anatomic shell. It has recesses to permit extra padding where you need it, not just a hole in the nose where I never sit anyway. Light, too, at about 240 gr. It replaces a Terry titanium that was just not quite comfortable on long rides. I would give it 5 chilies, but the price is a bit steep at $69.99 at my LBS.
