Description:Made of aluminum alloy for strength and light weight. Mounts on back of mountain bikes to carry rear panniers. Has a solid aluminum piece on top which acts as a mud guard. Stainless steel hardware.

Submitted by Dan Bebber a Cross Country Rider from Oxford, UK
Date Reviewed: January 22, 2004
Duration Product Used:2 Years
Price Paid: $40.00
Purchased At:Beeline Cycles, Oxford, UK
Strengths:Light
Weaknesses:Breaks at welding points when subjected to vibrations or loads.
Bike Setup:Raleigh Pioneer hybrid road bike
Bottom Line:Aluminium is the wrong metal to build a rack out of. Although light, it is much stiffer than steel and therefore snaps when subjected to repeated loads. Mine broke after a few months of use commuting along uneven cycle tracks.
