$14.00 | | Strengths: | They have excellent grips, wide, perfect, and the price is the last thing you need to be sure that they are worth buying. | | Weaknesses: | On a slope, my foot slipped, and I "scratched" my ankle with them... If something 2mm deep and over 4mm wide can be called a scratch. In other words, MAKE SURE YOUR FOOT DOESN'T SLIP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! | | Bottom Line: | They are excellent pedals for anything like trial or mountain biking, even for downhill. Just make sure your foot is steady on them, because then it can't slip of the grips. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$25.00 | | Purchased At: | University Bikes | | Strengths: | Sturdy, inexpensive, nice grip, replacable pins, large surface area. | | Weaknesses: | None other than I pitty the person who scrapes the shins with these things. | | Similar Products Used: | Stock pedals from Trek 4900 | | Bike Setup: | Trek 4900, Oury Grips(Lovin' them), IRC Mythos XC Slick(*shiver* Sweeeet) | | Bottom Line: | Bought these things to replace the stock pedals from the Trek 4900. Although I'm not used to riding without cages or clipless, I wanted something more suited for urban riding. I'm a pretty big guy at 6'0 240 and these things are sturdy enough for my weight. Excellent grip so if you DO slip...your doing something wrong. I am by no means an expert or hell..even intermediate in biking but I know when something is good. Very impressed with the overall quality and the price is RIGHT even though the LBS charge 10 bucks more than MSRP...I feel like I need to support the LBS' out there and only go online for EXPENSIVE components. Enough rambling...GO BUY THESE PEDALS! | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$20.00 | | Purchased At: | local bike shop | | Strengths: | Looks, grip, lightweight, durable, secure pins, cheap. | | Weaknesses: | Crap paint durability, turly disastrous bearings. | | Similar Products Used: | DMR 8s and 12s, Outback flats, plastic tastic stock stuff. | | Bike Setup: | 2001 GT Palomar, Zokes shocks, Maguras, Panaracer XCs. | | Bottom Line: | Fantastic when new, they give you a great feeling. Very reassuring to ride with these pedals and almost any surface, they even work when your shoes are caked with mud. The price is fantastic too. Unfortunately, almost exactly 3 months in the bearings started grinding, then failed copletely. One side collapsed beyond recognition, the other was just about about to do the same. I am not saying this will happen to all pedals as a lot of the reviews below are very good, I am saying that mine fell apart. I suppose regular stripping and greasing would help, but I had giving them a good shot of grease about a month ago, and had not done nay hard riding since then. If price is important, get these and keep them service. These are gerat pedals when they work, but mine failed so catastrophically I wouldn't feel the same confidence if I bought a replacement set. I can't give them a 5 for value because the bearings could and should be better, especially as I have had cheaper pedals last much longer. 3 overall because they were great when they worked, but the bearings really do leave something to be desired. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

So good, I'm buying another pair for another bike.

$16.00 | | Purchased At: | Bicyclitus | | Strengths: | Cheap. You get your money's -worth- they do their job. Wider than my last pedals (which is a good thing). Pins grip my shoes, but when they do manage to slip, tears your shin. Worth it though.. rarely slip. | | Weaknesses: | Cheap looking. I doubt the bearings will last more than 6 months. | | Similar Products Used: | Shimano Deore pedals (stock) | | Bike Setup: | 96' Kona Muni-Mula with these Wellgo pedals | | Bottom Line: | Glad I got them. They are cheap, but will last me long enough to get a more costly version later on. They have helped me a lot - no more worrying and whining about my shines getting chewed up every 10 minutes on XC or urban rides from my old pedals.
Can't beat this price for what you do actually get.

The pins aren't amazing and wear down very quickly. Try and replace them for DMR pins, they are far better. also after a couple of rides the bearings started grinding and sqeuaking. But they are quite wide so on tight corners you need to make sure that your not scraping your pedals... otherwise you'll go flyin'
The weight doesnt really matter unless youve got a £1500 bike that weights about 15lbs. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

Even on moderate leans they hit the ground (nothing like leaning into a turn and feeling them scrape the ground and feel the bike get jacked up and loose traction). Most of the teeth on the corners of mine are bent. They eat shins for breakfast. But good grip. And good value for your money. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

Makes a nice change from clipless. Learn how to bunny properly without the aid. Plenty of different colours. | | Weaknesses: | None that I have noticed so far. Ask me in four months about the bearings.... Some might prefer a different lable.
| | Similar Products Used: | Several clipless | | Bike Setup: | Custom Cinder Cone and Caldera. | | Bottom Line: | Why are there so many Brits posting about these pedals?
Paid 11.99 pounds mail order over two months ago, and so far their good reviews seem justified. Just cant seem to get on with clipless at all, so thought I would try these shin scrapers.
Much better confidence whilst riding, grip almost as well as spds yet with easier get-off (doh). Just be careful of your shins.
Also, make sure that you tighten down the pins with the philips screw head below the pedal, as mine came slightly loose out of the box. Maybe thats why some complain that they have lost pins. A few spare pins in the box would be appreciated also.
Apart from that, cant fault them at all. Review might change when I find 12 tram line scars going up my legs..... | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

I bought the more expensive £25 v-12 Type with sealed bearings and replacable studs. The V-12 types are really good, have amazing grip (just sling your foot anywhere near the pedal and it sticks). Plus, many of my friends have experienced stud loss with their v-12's but no such thing has happened on the Wellgo's. The seals are excellent, the bearing are still silky smooth after half a year of very wet, muddy riding. The cro-mo axles are also very good, they don't seem to rust as fast as other designs. Overall these are DMR's (maybe even better) just without that tiny stamped name and half the price. | Overall Rating: |

These pedals are the same as the DMR's exept: They cost one third as much (only 15 of you English bones), The bearings are different, and they don't have replaceable studs (although I here there is such a model available). These pedals rock. They are of average weight and they have good bearings that are easily accesible for cleaning and lubing. They wear quite well, lasting on average about a year of hard riding. They also grip better than any other pedal I have ever used. I favour platforms to SPD's because with platforms you can ride with whatever shoes you like and you don't have clipping in problems in the mud. They are a nice pedal that I would give 4 for performance but a big 5.5 for value and looks so I'll give them 5 Toastie Chillis. (please excuse the contradiction in terms). | Overall Rating: |
