I may or may not let wellgo take care of my problem because I have already replaced the pedals with shimano 747 so I don't really have a need for an extra set. It is kinda a principle thing with me now and k2. I would like to say that if you are going to buy these pedals don't spend the $100 for the girvins just for the name like I did cause they suck. For wellgo reading and responding to my post I will balance out my previous post with 5 chillie, thanks wellgo. | Overall Rating: |

I think my pedals broke pretty much like the guy below. Girvin sucks because I took the pedals back to the dealer, they sent them in for warranty and k2 said they would not cover it. I have pictures of what happend to them at http://www.geocities.com/Baja/Mesa/2600/1.jpg http://www.geocities.com/Baja/Mesa/2600/2.jpg http://www.geocities.com/Baja/Mesa/2600/3.jpg http://www.geocities.com/Baja/Mesa/2600/4.jpg All I can say is that since I have been riding the big S life is grand

I've had these pedals for about a month now and I am very pleased with them. They came stock with my KHS Comp, before I bought the bike I was skeptical about the pedals, I had been using Shimano 535's for the past year and a half and I didn't think the Wellgo's would be as hight quality. However, after riding them hard for a month I have no complaints, they work just as good as my 535's. It does take a while to break them in like any other clipless pedal. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a good, inexpensive pedal. If they fall apart in the meantime I will post a new message, but I have a feeling that they won't. | Overall Rating: |

Not a bad pedal for the price. This is my first set and I've only had'em for a couple a days. I needed to really tweek them to get my foot in and out easily, however after painstakingly doing so for about an hour they are just fine. i know a guy who has had'em for six months and said he would never part with them. We shall see if i feel the same. I'll give updates. | Overall Rating: |

I wanted to do a quick follow up review to the one I did below. I talked with girvin and even put a post on their tech forum, still no response from them. I just posted again to them. I posted a message to girvin on 5-6-98 with no response. My LBS is not convenient for me to get to so I have been riding on these unsafe pedals for about a month now. I had called girvin and they refused to send the part to me saying take it to the shop to see if it was a warranty issue. Read my post below. I did get a response from someone who I now realize is not girvin. I want givin to respond and take responsibility. Today I am pissed, while cranking up a fairly steep hill, I had the unfortunate experience of being clipped into the broken side which caused me to become unclipped at a very bad moment, causing me to come off the bike in a rather unprofesional manner. Everyone with in a mile could certainly hear my profanity directed at girvin. I am not happy at this point and plan on making it my mission in life to post everywhere including my own web page which gets about 2000 hits a month and is directed at bikers. I am in the process of taking a macro pic and scanning it to my page. I will post this when I have it up. Since my post and no response I have talked with several hundred ppl before and after my rides when everyone is hanging out bsing and I show them this and explain what girvin/k-2/proflex is doing about it. I had been thinking of buying a proflex this year as a compliment to the hardtail I have. I will not spend $3000 with someone who blows me off on a $100 set of pedals. The replacement part at the most costing $2. I manage a retail store and I know the difference between good and bad service. I had a flexpost on order which I have canceled and am now waiting for a hydrapost. Word of mouth can be the best advertising in the world, It can also be very damaging to a company. Your choice girvin. And John Tanner Thanks for offering to send me the part, I thought you were a girvin rep. I would prefer that you dont send it, I want girvin to take care of this problem. they get one flaming chillie for their outstanding customer service.

For the price, these are the best pedals on the market. They work fine, easy in and easy out. My last pair of clipless pedals fell apart in three months. I have had these for almost a year with no problems. If you want a really good clipless pedal and don't want to spend big $$ these wellgo 700's can't be beat! | Overall Rating: |

girvin informed me that welgo makes these pedals for them. Since there is not a girvin rating yet I am posting this here. They have taken this post off once. Hopefully it will remain up this time. I feel that I am following the guidelines for posting in good faith. I dont know why they would take it down. E-mail me if there is a good reason please.I'm not quite sure what to say about these pedals. I wish there had been more reviews about them before I bought them. I went from the toe cage type pedal to these and I love the way that they work. I have had them for only about 3 weeks though and one has already broken. I just got back from riding and the left one did not feel quite right. Upon closer inspection I noticed that the large part of the release clip on one side had broken off. The guy at the bike store tried to sell me shimano 747 but I went with the girvin because my stepbrother has a proflex with the givin c-mag. I called k-2 as soon as I got in and Mark at customer service told me I would have to resolve it at my bike shop. Two problems with that. One this was the last pair they had. Two I will be with out pedals while I am waiting for the new ones or replacement parts. I have read alot of reviews here and some of the better companies have shipped ppl new parts overnight. Not the case with girvin. This part probably only cost them 50 cents and I would have been more than happy to replace it myself. Plus I hate going to the shop to have this taken care of cause as Mark put it they would have to determine if it was a warranty issue. So now if the guy at the shop does not want to cover it under warranty I have to argue with him about it or pay more bucks for pedals I just spent $100.00 on. I have only had these for 3 weeks, and I am not that hard on my bike. I wish now I had listened to the salesmaker and gone with shimano. They get 2 chillies only because I really like clipless pedals. Shimano has a solid piece across the back which looking in retrospect is probably a lot more durable. I hope this site puts up girvin pedals on the main review board soon, I would like to see if anyone else has had this problem. I will write another review when I get this resolved and spend some more time on these pedals. But before you buy these just look at them and think for yourself how strong that design is. I have had my bike for over a year now and have never had any of my shimano stuff break. In fact everything else has been flawless. | Overall Rating: |

Since a few months I have a pair of 700's and they do great. No problems at all in mud, there's enough around here the last weeks. I tried them in all kinds of terrain and never had any problems getting in or out or unexpected release. And, they look great in yellow. | Overall Rating: |

Good stuff!! I bought the Performance Topo Wellgo 700's. As good as the big S pedals I've ridden at 1/2 the dough! Solid all around performance wet and dry. All you losers who are stuck on buying for a name regardless of it's quality suck! Still wanna try the ATAC's though. | Overall Rating: |
