$400.00 | | Purchased At: | Bob's Bike Shop | | Strengths: | Gerat components and tough lightweight frame | | Weaknesses: | Rims are weak when riding hard over rough desert and rocky terraign, easily bent when hitting rocks hard. | | Similar Products Used: | Trek, Schwinn | | Bike Setup: | still stock | | Bottom Line: | Great bike for your value, I paid little and have gotten every penny out of this durable bike. I have crashed hard and hit rock of all size, the aluminum frme has held up great, rims on the other hand I have had to straighten twice after hiting a rock hard or flatted. Smooth ride with the style of seat but takes a bit to get used to. Light weight frame and hardtail give excelent power on steep uphills and great control on technical dowhhill. Rock shocks are great for everyday handling on desert trails of Vegas and in the Oregon Cascade Mountains. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

from Penrith, NSW, Australia Date Reviewed: July 18, 2000 | | Favoriate Trail: | Woodford to Glenbrook (at the moment) | | Duration Product Used: | 1 Year | | Strengths: | price, alright components, RST 281s are good for the money, strong frame. | | Weaknesses: | weak rims, other than that no complaints. | | Similar Products Used: | Rode a GT aggresor and Avanti venturer, yukon kicks ass! | | Bike Setup: | RST Delta TL, Mavic X138 rims, Maxxis 2.1s, Aztec brake pads | | Bottom Line: | Overall it's a great bike for a beginner. The bike has survived everything i've thrown at it, except i changed the back rim after 2 weeks. I've changed just about everything on the bike except the components, they will do til i can save up a lot of money for a new, lighter bike. Also if you want an awesome pair of pedals, as the plastic ones are crap, get some DMR V8s.

from sydney australia Date Reviewed: July 12, 2000 | | Favoriate Trail: | blue mountains | | Duration Product Used: | 2 Years | | Strengths: | price | | Weaknesses: | not for the rough stuff | | Similar Products Used: | giant ATX 870, Polygon hardtail. | | Bike Setup: | as standard: RST 281, Shimano Acera groupset. | | Bottom Line: | This bike is good for recreational cross country, but doesn’t like rough work (especially roots and rocks). I’ve upgraded my bike now for that reason. The Yukon suspension is very basic RST 281 and has a wicked rebound. The stadard tires are no good so I upgraded to the great WTB velocityraptors (a worthwhile improvement) The saddle is too squashy and the stapling separates. THe bottom bracket starts creaking after only 3 months, but all-up an ok bike for an ok price. I give it 40ut of 5. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

from PA Date Reviewed: March 16, 2000 | | Favoriate Trail: | any | | Duration Product Used: | Less than 1 month | | Strengths: | Value for price, Alivio front/rear and shifters Awesome tires Fork seemed better than those on other $500 bikes | | Weaknesses: | Bought a leftover it was purple/black :( Maybe a touch heavy | | Similar Products Used: | 2000 Diamondback Response 2000 Trek 4500
| | Bike Setup: | Stock for now, Alivio deraillerus and shifters, SR MG80 shock, WTB Tyrannoraptor tires | | Bottom Line: | Best buy for under 450, especially as I bought it as a leftover for 329. You cant beat this bike with a stick at that price...best componentry of any bike under 450, the only prob is I bought a purple one because it was the only leftover in my frame size. I tried alot of other bikes and this bike had better componentry than the 2000 models from Trek(4500) and Diamondback(Response). | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

from Sterling, IL Date Reviewed: August 8, 1999 | | Duration Product Used: | 3 months | | Strengths: | Price/Value Ratio Comfort | | Weaknesses: | Rivet on toe clip strap busted in the first week. Not made in America | | Similar Products Used: | GT Aggressor Raleigh M60 Trek 830 AL | | Bike Setup: | Stock: MG80 fork, Alivio components and Grip Shift Centeras | | Bottom Line: | With 100 miles on and offroad under my belt, I've decided to weigh in on this bike. I got the bike at a Performance retail store for $399, certainly making it the best value for $400. Not the lightest bike, but not the heaviest either. It offers a much better ride than the Aggressor (and seemed lighter), was just slightly ahead of the M60 in value (thanks to a bit nicer shock) and offered better componentry for the price compared to the Trek. If you haven't more than $400-$450 to spend, I think this bike is a good value. I searched long and hard to find a nice ride with a good price to component ratio. Hard core riders will rip the shock, but it's the best of the low end shocks, even better than the Rock Shox Jett C. Oh, and be sure to grab yourself the red model. Besides that rivet busting on the toe clip strap, I can't complain. | Overall Rating: |

This is the best bike I have ever riden. It weighs absolutly nothing. There is plenty of ultra plush travel on the super smooth Rock Shox. This thing is so fast is amasing. The mountain rear derailler shifts right on the spot when you need it. In racing I'm 10-0. 5 chilis | Overall Rating: |
