$2998.00 | | Purchased At: | JE James Sheffield | | Strengths: | Great handling, light weight, good brakes. | | Weaknesses: | Suspension noise. Poor bottom bracket. Servicing. Problems with chain suck. | | Similar Products Used: | Specialized Stumpjumper FSR. | | Bike Setup: | Manitou Skareb fork, Hope hubs and discs, Raceface cranks. | | Bottom Line: | The bike is the lightest XC full suspension rig I have ridden not counting a quick blast on a friends Stumpjumper. It is great on the climbs and the geometry suits me well. I don't seem to get a lot of suspension bob. If you really hammer it downhill it can become a bit difficult to control, but maybe tweaking the suspension would remedy this.
The main problems I have had are creaking / squeaking noises from the suspension and irratating chain suck from the cranks. It is the first time I have used disc brakes and the Hope minis it has are great, but adds another degree of difficulty when servicing.

$3000.00 | | Purchased At: | wheelies | | Strengths: | strong, light.good for racing and trail riding.simple design and trick looking. | | Weaknesses: | welding not the neatest and bobbing on smooth trails although not enough to worry about.most single pivot bikes will suffer trom this in some way. | | Similar Products Used: | trek fuel 90 | | Bike Setup: | fox floats,xt/xtr.easton carbon post/bars,hope/x317 wheels, float rl rear shock. | | Bottom Line: | a brilliant allround xc bike, well built although buy as frame only as orange specs a little unappealing.also try to get one with a lockout or manitou 3 way shock to reduce bobbing.best to use a 100mm travel fork to broaden all round ability. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$2600.00 | | Purchased At: | Sunset MTB | | Strengths: | Great frame and finish (lumpy welding aside). Light, fast, very stiff and no bob. Quick handling. (Now) does the job I wanted it to - fast, simple FS XC bike | | Weaknesses: | Finishing kit on Pro spec weak. FSA BB spindle snapped within 5 mins of riding; Shimano chain went soon after. Seat pin, saddle and stem junk. WTB rims very loose tyre fit. | | Similar Products Used: | Voodoo Bokor, Kona Kilauea | | Bike Setup: | Stock Sub 3 Pro with Scareb Comp lockout forks and SID rear shock. Changes - Hope Minis, Race Face Deus stem, SRAM rockets, Thomson seat pin, XTR rear mech, Race Face BB, Flite Ti saddle. Middleburn XC cranks soon to replace Race Face; can't get the chain line working smoothly on a 2 ring set up. | | Bottom Line: | Now it's working, I love it. A great frame let down by some poor stock components. Should have just bought a frame and built it up piecemeal.
Have heard it critisized for a low BB height but have never had a problem.
One last thing, I'm 6'4" with a 35" inside leg and my bike is 20". Top tube length is fine but it has a very low head height. This has necessitated an an inch of spacers and a 15 degree rise stem to get it to fit me. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |
