One main problem is since it is more of a trail bike, its sits up faily high, making the rear wheel want to go over the front. After getting a new dh bike, i was able to make it a soley mountain cross dirt jumper bike by replacing the rear shox( an eye to eye of 8") with another fox rear shox with a much shorter strock and piggy back(witha eye to eye of ")

The G gives me wood every time I ride. It can take what you can throw at it if you aren't a total fatazz. I've done 4500ft climbs and the subsequent 4500ft descent, raced it, stunts, XC, play riding, mud, dry, tight, technical, fast, day in and day out. This bike is the best $1300 I've ever spent. The adjustable front and rear travel feature is sooooo cool! Tune the travel for your ride (and make sure YOU tighten your shock bolts before the ride, ya f-ing dolt) so that the bike works just the way ya like it. Just the way you NEED IT. Piece by piece, Ironhorse does not skimp on parts with this bike. Rhynolite wheels, Truvativ cranks, hayes hydraulic brakes, U-turn Psylo w/tullio, FSA DH Pig sealed bearing headset, Fox shock, Shimano XT shifting and the absolute thickest, meatiest handlebar that I have ever seen (Titec Ringleader) on a mtn bike. They even include a rock ring and front fender with the deal! Just use a real lock washer on THE fender and it'll work fine. This bike eats rocks and craps gravel. You will not be sorry with this purchase. C'mon, be a MAN and hit the G-Spot! I use this bike for a comfortable XC. I have really enjoyed this bike until my last ride. The nuts that connect the shock to the swing arm came out. The bolt that holds it in place is bent as well. I did not get upset until I spoke with supergo for the third time who stated that ironhorse has not called them back. Supergo says they called 2 times. I have called and emailed ironhorse without success. I will probably repair it on my own. I rate it 3 for value as these parts will make it my next bike. Overall a 1 for ironhorse customer care. In that time I have found the frame to be on the weak side. I cracked mine at the rear bottle mount. It was replaced under warranty but that one is now doing the same thing. The Psylo fork started to come loose in the crown. Rock Shox fixed it, but it is not up to the task of freeride. especially if you are a heavyweight. The rest of the bike is great. I had to go to a 800# spring for my 200# weight and that seems about right. The wheel set is good just needed a few tweeks, brakes are great, drive train is great, (just make sure to run the spacers in your pedals!). I would would still recommend this bike to anyone. For the money you really can't go wrong. Even if I change the frame I have the parts to make a great bike. I wanted a cross-country frame with extra travel for occassional downhill rides. If I were to build a bike from scratch, the G-Spot would be it. This bike is the perfect compromise. The weight is a bit excessive (38 lbs), but for a 220 pounder like me, it's not as noticeable and probably more durable.
On the other hand, the paint is terrible. I have owned the bike for one week and after one serious trail ride, it needs a new paint job! I dropped an allen wrench on the top tube and then brushed the seat tube with my watch when adjusting the rear travel. Both mishaps chipped the paint like hell. I would have gladly paid an extra $15 for powdercoat.
The mounting mechanism on the THE fender is terrible. The compression nut on the top of the "wedge" turns while you try to tighten it from the bottom. You can never get it tight and the fender falls right out of the steer tube. I replaced the stock fender with a DEFENDER front and rear ($25 for the pair). | | Value Rating:Overall Rating: |

Had to replace the seat post for a longer one to get full leg extension for a 6'1 guy. (even with a large frame). Last, it has some really lame stickers that immediately went into the trash.
