    Date Reviewed: August 28, 2001
    Favoriate Trail:Trail 100
Duration Product Used:Tested or demo'ed only
    Price Paid: $6.00
    Purchased At:Some dude's house
Strengths:Sinks in the lake pretty fast.
Weaknesses:Color, design, color, weight, demensions, suspension, flex, weak frame, puky threads on bottom bracket
    Similar Products Used:My puke
Bike Setup:Like a '73 Cadillac, heavy and ugly as a puke green pinto...
Bottom Line:PUKE on you Lay-Z-Boy and ride it down a hill. I guarentee it will look better and probably ride better too.

    Favoriate Trail:Zig Zag
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
    Price Paid: $1800.00
    Purchased At:Scottys' Wesport Bike
Strengths:Tough frame and parts, hussefelt cranks, 20mm axles, hayes discs, psylo, etc. The stock parts will hold up to whatever you wanna do. Adjustable fox rear shock is nice too.
Weaknesses:Well obviously this thing is gonne be heavy but i expected that much. Its stability and strength more thna make up for it. If you ve got legs youll be able to keep up with the Xc dudes and blow past em on the descent.
Similar Products Used:IH Hollowpoint, Kona Stinkys, etc...this was the best...sweet value did i mention that yet?
Bike Setup:stock...psylo tullio, hayes, rhyno lites, formula rear hub, titec bars and stem, maxxis tires suck...2.1 is too small for this ride, a larger beffier tire is needed.
Bottom Line:Still after 3 years one of the best deals on a, dare i say, freeride bike. If your only into tons of miles and not really intereste din drops, jumps and stunts then check out the hollowpoint. If you are then this is it. The components will last and nothin needs replacing right away, unless the tires if your on the east coast. See you local dealer, and try it out, see for yourself, and i bet youll wanna ride it home. Very fun, insiring and lust-worthy bike. go get one

Favoriate Trail:El Corte De Madera Open Space Preserve
    Duration Product Used:1 Year
    Price Paid: $1600.00
Purchased At:Park Cyclery - Don't buy it there. Poor Service
Strengths:Beefy frame, nice rear suspension design, strong, inexpensive.
Weaknesses:A tad heavy, rear end is a little flexy (not bad though), average to below average component selection.
    Similar Products Used:Kona Stinky
Bike Setup:Hayes Hydraulic, LX Cranks, LX Shifers, Sun Rims, crappy headset, heavy riser bars, LX Deraileurs, comes with Manitou X Vert Fork (4" travel).
Bottom Line:Excellent bang for the buck. You get a very nice frame and suspension design with disc brakes and Sun Rhino Light Rims. The rest of the components are lower quality, but as they wear, you just upgrade to better stuff. Then you have a sweet stead. I immediately replaced the XVert fork with a Bomber Z1QR. It rides great.

Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
    Price Paid: $999.00
    Purchased At:Yahoo auctions
Strengths:Tremendous looks, beefy frame, powerful Hayes Disk brakes, extremely comfortable riding position, great, great value!
Weaknesses:Probably rear shock...feels a little bouncy...I'll let you know when I take it downhilling this weekend at Gore and Platekill Mountain.
    Similar Products Used:DBR X2, K2 Flying Monkey, Trek 7000
    Bike Setup:Stock
Bottom Line:Without a doubt, the best bang for the buck on the market...where else can you get a bike with Hayes Hydro brakes, XT components, great wheels, awesome suspension for a grand. Please...I feel like this was a gift to me. Oh, did I mention this thing looks awesome and is a blast to ride? Hey, it's all true. At least 5 hot flamin' chillies for this puppy. Ride on.....!!!!!!

    Favoriate Trail:Lynn Woods
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Strengths:Great frame, disc brakes, nice plush travel
Weaknesses:Cables rub against frame and remove paint. A bit heavy
    Similar Products Used:Specialized FSR
Bottom Line:For $1,500.00 ya can't go wrong. It's plush, fun as hell to ride and my confidence level has increased 100%. I was a die-hard XC rider that thought FS was a complete waste of time and energy... my hardtail's collecting dust... this thing is just waaaayyyyy too much fun!!
