$800.00 | | Purchased At: | Cycling Concepts | | Strengths: | This bike bobble when you pedal!!!! I like that. I dont care what others say. I suck at climbing anything even close to steep on a hardtail, but i can climb it with the bobble. I dont know why. It should be the opposite. Oh well i guess i'm just weird. | | Weaknesses: | Daamn the front shock that is on this bike. The vke came with a Rock Shox Jett. They dont even make that anymore, and for good reason too...THEY SUCK!!!! Only 75mm of travel. The back shock is ok but i wish i could have more travel and maybe lockout too, but for now it does the job. I also hate that it is a bizatch to shift from 1st to 2nd gear in the front. | | Similar Products Used: | None | | Bike Setup: | The frame, Rock shox Jett fork(45mm-75mm of travel), Rock Shox deluxe(rear shock year 2000), Shimano Deore LX cranks, derailluers, everything is Deore LX, and i have a fender(SKS shockband) | | Bottom Line: | A great bike. I would give it a 5 if I had smoother shifting in the front gears and if i had a better fork. By the way check out www.supergo.com for an awesome price on a Rock Shox Psylo XC...only 300 bucks. You better hurry though before they are all gone. If you can buy this bike new like i did. Other wise you might have to change the third front gear because i've noticed you can bash it easily. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$800.00 | | Purchased At: | bike line | | Strengths: | well the strengths. those are easy. its a great suspension design that i would say is pretty progressive. the frame is basicly indestructable because i know its more of an allmountain bike but i use it for downhill with drops like 10 feet and stuff. it comes with a good component spec for a budjet rider like i was at the time. has an lx rear derailer shifts smoothly. the rockshox rear shock is pretty good but probly not as good as a fox or 5th element. the shock has lasted me my whole two years of riding. i have done absolutley no maintenance for it and its still running strong and smooth. | | Weaknesses: | front fork totally sucks. i suggest get a better fork. i have a judy xc fork which is fine for xc stuff but i want a higher travel fork. im thinking of putting a little psylo sl on it cause in a week ill have my bullit. the crankset has been like stripped and wont hold the chain but imgetting a new one this christmas. but i wouldnt say the crankset is a weekness because it probly just wore down. | | Similar Products Used: | none. | | Bike Setup: | frame. judy xc, xt rear cogs. xt 8 spd shifters. etc. | | Bottom Line: | bottom line is get this bike if you can. its a great bike for anything. hucking, xc agressive riding. urban riding. anything. the components are very good for a 800 dollar bike. the suspension is good. the frame is indestructable. cept if you freeride plan on breaking the rims real quick. i broke the rear one within like 8 months of riding. and only weigh 100lbs now. tires that come on the bike are ok but i like dh tires for my kind of riding. the bike is relatively light and overall its a good bike. btw. i had gotten the last one on the east coast. i got mine at christmas time of 00. right before newyears. ahahhaha. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$1200.00 | | Purchased At: | Private sail | | Strengths: | Great looks, great ride. All terrain capabilities | | Weaknesses: | Slight bob on serious hill climbs | | Similar Products Used: | Schwinn Maub, Jamis Durang, Specialized FSR Elite | | Bike Setup: | All XTR with Judy LT. Spinergy 3 spokes | | Bottom Line: | Super bike. Rides very well. The uphill bob is worth the downhill control. Handles well in the mud, snow and occasional dry conditions of Vermont. The bike was worth the money. The components are well suited for the paces that I carry. I would not recommend this bike for big drops. I would like bike joints that I could lubricate. Anyone that doesn't like this bike is expecting too much for the money! | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |
