Date Reviewed: June 26, 2002 | | Duration Product Used: | Less than 1 month | | Strengths: | see review below | | Weaknesses: | Right...heres a shocker.These forks were superb UNTIL I tried to put a disc brake set up on them.With a rim brake they were great but when i fitted a Chris King front disc hub with 185 mm Hope disc it didn`t even fit into the drop outs.To add insult to injury(having spent a fortune on a wheel set and discs)Hope disc hubs OR Shimano didn`t even fit so they had to go.The mount for the caliper on the fork leg was allegedly International Standard but as I said things just didn`t match up. | | Bottom Line: | If you have a rim brake then ok they`re good forks but for this kind of money i expected no major design flaws.They`ve lost a chilli or two i`m afraid. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

I had this for last season and i blew the seals, and when i called rockshox to replace the seals, they dont make them andy more. What kind of company doesn't make seals for a 2 year old fork??? I will never buy those pieces of junk again, do not buy a rockshox. | | Bike Setup: | specialized frame, xt, firexc pro tires, sun rims, white brothers xc 3 fork, club roost bars, titec bar ends. 23 pounds. | | Bottom Line: | Great fork with good customer service that lives up to warranty promises. Six month warranty and customer is excellent. Repairs broken forks within a week and is returned promptly. i love them. not a well known bike company which is why a like them, they look out for customers, unlike rockshox. Its stiff, durable, good travel, good feel of steering and doesn't bob or float under heavy breaking unlike that sid. If you are under 150 pounds, its excellent, im 130, it could be a little plusher but it was perfect once i put in 5 weight oil instead of the 10 and got a softer spring kit, all in all a terrific race fork!!! Buy it if your serious about biking and are a hard rider. But make sure you service it every 30 hours of riding! | | Value Rating:Overall Rating: |

Date Reviewed: November 13, 2000 | | Favoriate Trail: | dirt | | Duration Product Used: | 3 months | | Strengths: | sucks up bumps that you don't want to feel. won't let your tire leave the dirt unless you tell it to. gives you kick when you want to punch off the ground and get airborne. soaks up the impact on landing. you can stand on it while it's laying on its side and it doesn't bend. you can nose your bike directly into the ground coming down off a rock and your front wheel will taco while the fork just eats up the thud. consistent, reliable, quality. | | Weaknesses: | you're kidding. | | Similar Products Used: | poop shox, marzocci | | Bike Setup: | azonic ds-1 | | Bottom Line: | this fork is for anyone under 150# who wants performance from the front of their ride. it's suspension and dampening systems are modified by changing the springs or oil - which means that you never have to wonder what it's gonna do, or how it's gonna react. if you want a softer ride, you put in softer springs. you want less dampening, change the oil. if you're a poster boy you won't like this fork because you can't dial in a suspension setting. if you're a racer or serious fun chaser you'll love it, because it delivers with excess on what should be promised from a good fork. eat up anything with this fork. | | Value Rating:Overall Rating: |
