My wife and I both ride xp pro and she has 6100 miles on hers and I have 4900 miles on mine. My beater is an xp with worn out components and has 3800 miles on it. That is why I no longer care about what brand is on the down tube...period.Seriously,some components have worn out and been replaced but the bikes are solid, very rideable and alot of fun. Other reviewers have had swingarm breaks and issues but we were lucky enough to have had none! If you find one on ebay or anywhere else for that matter you should buy it then enjoy! | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$300.00 | | Purchased At: | Supergo (frame only) | | Strengths: | Price can't be beat!!! Beefy, stiff. 5th Element shock feels bottomless, nice and plush. It does a good job of negating the bad effects of a single pivot design. Nice burly replacable dropout too. Geometry makes this an ideal 5" trail bike for agressive riding. | | Weaknesses: | Obvious shortcomings of single-pivot design. Finish is about as durable as crayon. Water bottle mount is in the worst possible place. Lack of gussets makes me wonder how long it will hold together. | | Similar Products Used: | Santa Cruz Heckler, S-Works Enduro. | | Bike Setup: | Fox Vanilla RLC, thompson post and stem, SRAM x.9 drivetrain, RaceFace DH cranks, Rhyno Lites with XT hubs, Avid mec. disc brakes. | | Bottom Line: | Intended to build a Heckler but couldn't resist this deal, $300 for a direct knockoff with the same geometry as the Heckler and a 5th Element shock! So far I love the frame, it is head and shoulders above my '04 S-Works Enduro in terms of stiffness and perceived durability. It is holding up well so far and appears to be very well built. The ultimate test will be when (not if) it breaks, how well Supergo will deal with the warranty. Pedals surprisingly well for a single pivot, there is noticible feedback and brake jacking but that just goes with the terrirory- worth the tradeoff for the best price/performace ratio on the market. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$1700.00 | | Purchased At: | Supergo Seattle | | Strengths: | Component set is incredible for the $$. The frame is outstanding feel, geometry good for me, very tunable bike. Compares well with the more expensive similar brand name offering(Santa Cruz)
I wasn't crazy about the orange color at first but now I think it's sweet.
I got this to replace Specialized Enduro I bought as my first real ride. I would have kept it but I bought a frame too small. This Weyless is a perfect fit for me and feel it rides better than the Enduro. Couldn't be happier. | | Weaknesses: | none seen yet | | Similar Products Used: | Specialized Enduro Santa Cruz Bullit | | Bike Setup: | stock components - will have to replace the seat because i already bent the ti rails in a nice crash | | Bottom Line: | Best value and quality ratio out there. Too bad Supergo no longer offering - after long period of comparing and deciding I got lucky and got the last one of this size off the Seattle showroom floor. Whew, glad i did because it's a great bike. I hope for others they come out with a comparible model in the future. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$1750.00 | | Purchased At: | Supergo | | Strengths: | the ride! For the money, this bike is max. I just got back from Moab, and it passed with flying colors. | | Weaknesses: | Riding Moab, the seat rail came loose from its posterior holder. Luckily it still held together, because I was a long way from nowhere. Supergo replaced the WTB laser with another, no hassles. | | Similar Products Used: | Specialized Enduro | | Bike Setup: | stock, plus Candy C pedals. | | Bottom Line: | This is a follow-up to my 12/7/04 post, and it's been great. Little adjustments to the brakes, and a decent set of pedals are all that were needed. The climb is solid, the downhill is plush (Fox-worthy), and the looks are tight. In Moab, I got questions, comments, and stares from people riding Ellsworths and Santa Cruz'; the paint is attractive and the components are top notch. And for the money I saved, I could afford the beers after the ride! This bike ate up most of slickrock trail. It took all the suspension for some of the compressions and drops, but the bike never faltered (more than I can say for the Giant Reign my buddy rode!). Supergo has been excellent for customer service, too. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

Had a bad tibia plateau fracture last year and bought the XP for rehab and motivation. I don't have a lot of MTB experience, but compared to the KTM, the suspension works as well on the modified set I had on the KTM - Fox makes great stuff. I swapped out the wheels due to the poor reviews I read about the hubs and since I am recovering from a broken leg, I didn't want another injury any time soon. The new rear wheel seemed to eliminate the flex in the rear and make gear changing smoother. So far so good, but I'm still on the cautious side and not riding it hard yet. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

The FOX TALAS suspension's ability to morph this bike into anything you need with no tools is absolutely amazing. I just returned from riding it at Rays Indoor MTB park in Cleveland. This place is loaded with wooden ramps, jumps, berms, vertical, and stunts. I hit everything other than the expert elevated technical sections. No ISSUES with the bike! Im not sure what the breakages reported in others reviews are all about, land straight and be smooth. this bike accelerates very well, the AVID Juicy 7 brakes are stellar! $1600.00 | | Purchased At: | Supergo | | Strengths: | Dig the bright orange paint. Unbeatable component spec for the dough, but we all know that. Wails on the downhills. Once the Juicy Discs stopped squealing, they work fantastic. | | Weaknesses: | Coming from a 25lb race bike, the weight bugged me at first, but I just need to ride harder. Brakes squeeked like hell at first, but quite after 4-5 rides. Yeah, the chainline sucks, can't backpedal in the large rear cog, but minor adjustments in how I ride fixed that. Not crazy about the Sram triggers, they work, but I like Shimano triggers better. | | Similar Products Used: | Specialized FSR XC Pro. & Older FSR Expert | | Bike Setup: | mostly stock, but switched to a flat bar with ends (hey, what can I say? I'm xc all the way) ditched the big tires, and went with smaller, much lighter Fire XC Pros. 2.1's vs. 2.3s. 2.3s are too much tire around here. | | Bottom Line: | Overall, it's a really solid bike that was priced way below anything else with that component spec. if the frame snaps, I'll buy a better frame and move all the components over. It rides great and with the ProPedal, it even climbs ok. (by the way, nothing climbed better than my old FSR XC Pro...) You get what you paid for, true, but thus far I got more than I paid for, and I hope it stays that way. If you can get this bike for under $2000, and Supergo is close by, get it. The fork works great with the 5th Element Air as they both have similar valving. The Rear shock soaks up every thing at high and low speeds, and it does not bob in or out of the saddle. The suspension is in no way affected by pedaling but moves at the slitest bump. Climbs very well even in with the fork set at the 5' setting. I have the 20" frame ,it weighs 7lbs on bathroom scales. Bike finished at 29lbs. Going down has never been so FUN. If you are thinking of going to a five inch travle bike, you can't go wrong with the price, you want find anything out there that even comes close with a 5th Element Air shock. This bike has improved my riding skills and allowed me to ride much more agressivly than I ever thought possible. One of my buddies liked it so much, he go him one. Do your self a favor and quit reading this and just order one. Oh by the way, this bike is listed as a freeride bike. I see it as a trailbike. The XP PRO is built with a serious component lineup and it rides like a $3000 plus major brand bike! The price is crazy, the forks and rear shock retail for around $1200,juicy seven brakes aren`t cheap either and it just keeps on going. I`ve already put over a 1000 miles on it in a little under 4 months and I wouldn`t change anything about it. It`s fast, extremely nimble and very smooth and adjustable. Others have said that the frame isn`t tough enough...I couldn`t disagree more! I`m 215lbs and I pound the hell out of this bike and it handles it...period! $1600.00 | | Purchased At: | Supergo | | Strengths: | Excellent Components: Fox Talas, Avid Juicy, WTB, Shimano XT (Octalink Crankset is sweet) | | Weaknesses: | The front brake caliper does mount very close to the spokes. Potentially very little clearance for those that drop serious heights. I ride some pretty serious rock and am hard on equipment, but this has proven not to be a problem. | | Similar Products Used: | Marin Mount Vision Pro, Yokota single speed (for training and to appreciate my Marin) | | Bike Setup: | Stock | | Bottom Line: | Don't know what to think about some of the ratings. A few guys didn't have a bad thing to say but still rated it low!
The frame set is surprisingly light for how beefy it is. Easton RAD tubing. Nice welds and detailing. The X in the rear triangle is no gimmick, it is laterally very stiff. You point the bike in a direction and it follows that line!
My concern was with the wheelset, but WTB must have gotten their s**t together with the '04 Laserdisc wheels (I had read a preponderance of nastygrams on this board about the older ones.) Still true after lots of hard rides.
The stable platform technology (or whatever Fox calls it) is great. A guy has to love Fox. Rider input is at a minimum even when you stand on the pedals accelerating but the bike suspension opens up when needed.
Shimano XT stuff is tough and the Octalink II crank is last years XTR! What a great time to be a mountian biker. I have told everybody about this bargain. Hell! The fork and shock are seperaptely valued at just under the cost of the whole bike!! The bike gets the hell beat out of it on some pretty serious technical rock in Southern AZ and it just EATS IT UP! | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

Lots of room for fat tires. 5th elm air included. Light compared to my bullit. climbs well. | | Weaknesses: | The name. No ohhh factor like on high end frames. Azonic DH handelbar. | | Bottom Line: | I wanted somthing else to replace my kona which was too flexy for rough trail work. Also big bikes make regular trails feel wimpy. I did not want to spend alot of $ because I still ride my Bullit more than anything else. So far I am very happy with what I have gotten from my XP. It has handled small drops up to 5 feet (with good trannys) well and goes downhill fast. Solid feel in the corners. Sub-30 pounds | | Weaknesses: | Cheap, heavy-ish frame, requiring the components to bring the weight down. | | Similar Products Used: | 2003 Specialized Enduro | | Bike Setup: | Stock | | Bottom Line: | This is a great value for the money: Fox front and back with lock-outs, XT front and back, hydraulic Avids, solid rims and tires, even the seat is a WTB race V! Carbon bar, stem. Upgrades needed are pedals (come with platforms) and potentially the seat post. The cockpit is a bit short on me (18" bike for a 6 foot rider). Adjustment may ameliorate this. If you want the max bang for your buck, this is probably it. I agree, the climb isn't ideal, but with pro-pedal on the shock the bounce isn't bad. The "X" in the frame is probably just a gimmick, but the bike feels solid in the rock/sand curves here. I'll write again with a long-term review. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

On the fly lockout and shock adjustment for fork and rear shock. | | Weaknesses: | Weight is around 30 lbs., heavy compared to my former bike (hardtail) at 25 lbs. Howling rear brake (resolved by loosening front caliper mounting bolt). | | Similar Products Used: | Santa Cruz Blur (demo'd for a month) | | Bike Setup: | Stock per Supergo (see website for specs). | | Bottom Line: | Great "all mountain" bike. It doesn't climb fast, but it climbs anything. I've probably put 200 miles on it in 3 weeks. My road bike is being neglected because I enjoy the XP so much. It seduces me into trying much more technical and challenging trails. Really shines on single track. I tested the Weyless SP Pro as well (around the parking lot) and decided to go with the XP as I wanted a bike that would be different from my hardtail and would get me into different types of rides. $1600.00 | | Purchased At: | Supergo Online | | Strengths: | Suspension, brakes, saddle, multi-geometric setup | | Weaknesses: | Rear hub, Supergo return policy in general | | Bike Setup: | Stock with Time ATAC pedals | | Bottom Line: | The bike is great, but god forbid you have to send something back on it which they do not carry in stock, such as a rear wheel, in which case you must send the whole bike back. Then you get a new rear wheel as well as a new bike, fine if you do not mind waiting. I think it is screwy.
I went back to my Giant NRS while waiting for the switch and it was like riding a brahma bull compared with the plushness of the Talas systems, they really rock. The Avid Juicy Sevens are a giant leap forward from my Avid mechanicals. And the orange paint job looks pretty good too. Overall the bike is fantastic but Supergo needs some work on the inside in my opinion.

$1750.00 | | Purchased At: | Suupergo | | Strengths: | Price, components, no need to upgrade initially (although somepeople don't like the stem... i haven't found it offensive) | | Weaknesses: | None so far | | Similar Products Used: | Demo'd the 2003 VT2, 2004 VT1 and VT2, and the 2004 epic Comp | | Bike Setup: | Stock with some Ritchey Pedals | | Bottom Line: | I really like this bike.
The TALAS has features I've never adjusted before so I'm still figuring out the right pressures, and rebound, but I haven't had any problems whist dialing it in. I've riding about 50 miles on it so far (it sat around while i went on a really long vacation :( and the brakes have more or less broken in, but not the front derailleur. The initial build was a little less than perfect because my rear caliper came loose on the trail, and the disc itself was also loose.
The wheels are different from spec and although all the supergo people say it's a typo that states a laserdisc set, and it's meant to say speeddisc rim laser disc hub, it's a load of crap in my book, because they keep advertizing the wrong one in every brochure they shove through my mail box. I don't care, but some people might.
This is my first full suspension, and I saved up for it for a while. I'm happy with it.
Still under 10 rides, so once it's dialled in and got a few hundred on I'll repost and tell y'all what i think.
Value for money though, as has been said, fully kitted bike under $2000, not bad at all.
Hope anyone interested in it catches it on sale (I got it for tax free at 1899 with a $150 demo credit) some jammy b@57@rds got it at $1600, lucky them. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$1600.00 | | Purchased At: | supergo.com | | Strengths: | PRICE!, Fork, rear suspension, brakes.. everything | | Weaknesses: | hmmmm..crappy stem. a bit heavy other than that nada | | Similar Products Used: | K2 Razorback team, Superlight, s-works | | Bike Setup: | stock. see supergo.com for details | | Bottom Line: | This bike is smoooooooth.. doesn't quite rip the climbs as well as my razorback but then again, not much does. The front fork is pluuush (Fox RL) and easy to adjust and maintain.
Lock out on both front and talas pro pedal rear is a super bonus although the pro pedal hardly bobs at all (especially compared to the noleen on my razorback) when not locked out. The avid juicy seven's are a bit difficult getting used to as they work almost too well stopping on a dime. They offer the ultimate in fine tuning and the speed dial is sweet. The stock stem blows so it's been replaced, now the set up is perfect.
With this rig, I am able to customize the geometry based on ride/conditions. I can fully compress the fork and rear shock on the fly for climbing then extend both for the bomber downhill which gets smoother the faster you go. For those non-racers who want to be able to change set up on the fly, love to go super fast downhill yet still love a hairball climb.. this is THE rig.
Cheers! | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |
