from phila ,pa Date Reviewed: March 26, 2003 | | Duration Product Used: | 6 months | | Strengths: | great frame, fun to ride | | Weaknesses: | if your a clydesdale sized guy, go with a 12 mm rear hub it'll stiffen the rear up abit | | Bike Setup: | Marzocchi DJ 1, Profile 170mm crank, MRP, Hope DH brakes and Big Un hubs w?/Mavic 321 rims | | Bottom Line: | Use a short crank cause the BB is low , I bought A Romic rear slalom shock, it made the bike feel even better (the only problem is with the Romic you have to run the 4" travel position for the shock to fit)The Romic is custom built for you, mine is set up to jump and come out of the gate hard, it pedals way better than the Fox stock shock ( I would bottom my Vanilla, and when you crank hard it bobs, but then I weigh 235lbs) .If you weigh 190lbs or more go for the 12mm rear axle setup and the Romic. This frame is more fun to ride than my M1, low top tube and laid back seat angle is great for jumping. I just built up the Tazer hardtail too, but I ride the FS more often cause it's a blast | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$1500.00 | | Purchased At: | Second hand | | Strengths: | Exceptional build quality. Excellent geometry. Brilliant handling. Oh, and the 'poser' value. | | Weaknesses: | Non replaceable rear mech hanger. (Maybe some bosses on the downtube to attach a crud catcher etc.) | | Similar Products Used: | Kona DUDU,GT LTS,various hardtail DS frames. | | Bike Setup: | XTR,HOPE,MRP,PSYLO SL(02),DMR,THOMSON,24/7. | | Bottom Line: | The ride is amazing. Sure, you only got 3-4" of travel but that's all you need. Takes care of everything I ride except steep climbs. I got a secondhand frame as I couldn't afford a new one. This bike gives so much confidence. It makes you push yourself to go faster on trails and because of the suspension it is more forgiving than hardtails. If you find one of these in the local ads, snap it up. Though I doubt you'll find many people wanting to sell them.
