$700.00 | | Purchased At: | Wynnum Cycles | | Strengths: | Frame is totally overbuilt Truvativ cranks are tried and true Suits my kind of riding | | Weaknesses: | Weighs a ton (but I don't give a s#@t!) Forks are super soft and I think I busted em on a 12foot drop. Could co with a better chain device. | | Similar Products Used: | Santa Cruz S8, Orange 222, Norco Sasquatch | | Bike Setup: | 2.7x26 front, 2.5x24 rear Maxxis High Rollers. Chain device is a 7mm checker-plate home-made MRP job. Rear wheel couldn't hold up so I upgraded to a Dice 24 for the drop-offs. Armor 8inch hydro rear with Hayes rotor and dummy Hayes rotor up front. Shimano 105 deralleur with 12-23 road mech. Azonic bars and stem with Chris King headset. Built 4 thrashing! Am currently looking for some new forks. | | Bottom Line: | All up this bike should be plenty tough for the average thrasher. But the main weakness is the forks they suck! Most of the parts that I have had to upgrade have been after the first month or so which was what I expected. Given that I am only 16 I think that the frame will last for at least a good couple of years. The only thing that robs this bike of 5 and 5 is the fact that the forks are way to soft. I might get some Marzocchi Z3's or DJ1's.
