$95.00 | | Purchased At: | local bike shop | | Strengths: | Great Design. Easy to install. Bike is very stable and nothing touches the car. This is the only fork mount carrier that I'm aware of that works on a 1 1/4 inch hitch. | | Weaknesses: | None so far... You definitely want to make sure it will work with your bike. My Avid Disk brakes just touch the wheel tray when the fork is locked in. I can see how it may not work with some disk brakes on some bikes as another reviewer pointed out. | | Similar Products Used: | Saris T-Rax | | Bike Setup: | Giant NRS 2 - Stock | | Bottom Line: | I think this is a great carrier. It has the security of of roof rack mount but you can undo one bolt from the hitch and it is easily removed. The skewers seem solid and easy to use. The rack weighs 28lbs. My Giant NRS without the front wheel weighs 24lbs. My hitch has a 200lb tounge weight rating. I have the 4000 model for a 1 1/4 hitch. The box says the recommended carrying weight is 70 lbs. So you could have two 35lb bikes on this carrier. Note you cannot add two additional bikes on the 4000 model. You would need a 2inch hitch for that.
By the way normal price is around a $150 to $170 which is still a great price for this type of carrier. I got mine for less because someone else had ordered it from a bike shop and never picked it up.) | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$75.00 | | Purchased At: | friend | | Strengths: | Holds bike well, looks good on back of truck | | Weaknesses: | none that I can think of | | Similar Products Used: | Spare tire logic | | Bike Setup: | Trek STP 400: Chris king headset, rolf propel wheels, easton monkeylite handelbars, eggbeaters!, hutchinson python tires, | | Bottom Line: | This a really good rack! the only thing is that it might not work with certain disc brake bikes. The caliper hits on some. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |
