Bottom Line:
I bought my 2006 Brute in August 2007, Can't complain for $1000. This bike can take pretty much whatever you throw at it. Super burly out of the box! I did a bit of housekeeping on mine and scalped of the not so great parts (Fork, Cranks, Tires, tubes.... etc) now that she's a little bit leaner it's a lot more versatile.

Great all-round bike would recomend for every-body

It is pretty heavy and it only has 3 gears in the front
