      Purchased At: freewheeler bike shop
      Strengths: Everything
      the forks are amazing
      crank geared perfectly =)
brakes work so perfect they look as if they could with stand anything
this frame is built like a tank you can like take this bike off anything hit any jump and it will all stay intact
      IT IS AMAZING
Weaknesses: well if only had the bike for a day and so far the only bad thing is that the haro emblem rub off against the brake cable
      Similar Products Tried: nothing
      Bike Setup: stock
Bottom Line: well im 16 and 170 or so pounds and this bike withstands me and can take anything i throw at it you name it big jumps trails urban anything
for the money this is THE best bike you can buy for the money
if i would buy anything for this bike all it would be is longer cables
But like i said this is the best bike for the money

Strengths: Tough, great geometry, great balance
Weaknesses: brakes like to rub, difficult to get just the right adjustment.
Similar Products Tried: blkmrkt three57. Overall I like the Thread One much more, it felt more natural on dirt jumps and vert.
      Bike Setup: Stock
Bottom Line: I'm very pleased with this bike, for the money it can't be beat. I beat up on the bike all weekend at Rays indoor mtb park in Cleveland, and the bike performed outstanding except for the disc breaks which constantly wanted to rub. I was most impressed with the wheels, I was doing jumps and drops all day and the wheels were solid, and I'm a big guy at 260 lbs. I'd recommend this for anyone who needs a tough bike at an economy price.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=7A8ZrZs77RU That drop was with this bike on my first ride. No probs since! It's a fun, burly and bomb proof bike.

Strengths: Beautifully welded and painted frame, metallic green paint is actually much cooler than it looks in the 2008 Haro catalog. Aside from the complaints below, the parts are all pretty good for a bike at this price point. I was surprised that the Truvativ cranks came w/ an X-type external bottom bracket, very cool. Another thing I dug was that this frame is identical to the Thread 8 and has der cable guides, also included is a rear dropout w/ der hanger, so this can be converted to gears in the future.
Weaknesses: At $650 I wouldve expected better rims w/ riveted eyelets but we'll see how they hold up, the tektro brake levers on it are super cheap, Hayes MX4 brake did not work as well as the Avid BB5's that I have on two other bikes, mtn bike seatpost is sorta cheesy lookin too, will definately replace it.
Bike Setup: stock 2008 Haro Thread 1, w/ short top-tube (I'm 5'11") I can still bar spin w/out the wide bars hitting my knees
Bottom Line: I've been a bike mech off and on for about 13 years, I've also done a fair amount of bmx dirt/street/park riding but this is my first 26" DJ bike. Last night I did a quick assmebly of the bike, the front brake caliper/rotor were not mounted so I left them off, the rear brake cable is long enough to barspin once, the pedals are standard platforms w/ pins and look pretty nice but I replaced them w/ Primo Tenderizers. For a 26" bike it sure handles great, it manuals about as well as any 20" Ive ridden (actually it doesnt loop out as quick as a 20" will), the bike weighed in at 33 lbs but it doesnt feel as heavy as I expected, bunnyhop 180's were pretty easy and once I got used to the big wheels it handled sk8 park tansitions quite well. Overall I am very happy w/ the bike. I can attest that Haro has definately fixed their dropout problems. I will update once Ive beaten it a little but initially I can recommend buying this bike. The other options available to me were Trek, Fisher, and Cannondale. I did ride a Jack 3 and it rode more like a mtn bike whereas the Haro feels like a big bmx bike. Of the four brands, Haro also had the most name-brand parts for the money. I did have the chance to get an Eastern26 Night-train but it wouldve been 50% more $$$, if youve got $1000 and don't ever plan on running gears (which for this type a bike you shouldnt need to), get the Eastern its the best bike for $1K, if youve got about $600 get the Haro. FWIW The Eastern has a 20mm thru axle whereas the Haro has a 3/8" nutted axle, both have the DJ3 fork.

Strengths: Solid frame, solid rear hub, solid stem and bars....good cranks and tires
Weaknesses: Giro did not work for me, the droputs in the 06 version were messy, but tehy fix em for 07, the fork....but well for a cheap bike is fine
Similar Products Tried: Sinister DNA, GT chucker, Kona stuff, norco 416, p3,i rode a lot of street/dj frames
      Bike Setup: Stock
Bottom Line: Great overall bike, for this price it will put you over a great solid bike that you can easily upgrade as soon as you break the parts.
Fisrt when i saw the bike i thougth that the for was going to be a complete pice of junk, but i was suprised how well it performs (also is a basic hidrualic) but it get sticky very easy so you will need to clean it and lube it very often.
Then the pedals that are loose ball styel are holding ok by now.
About the giro that never worked for me , well i just replaced it with a long cable to the rear caliper. That allowed me to trim a bit the steer tube and to get rid of the spacers, so now my bars are not sky hight anymore.

Also the customer service from haro is one of the best, so you can't go wrong with this bike and for the money there`s nothing close to the quality of this bike in the same price range.

Weaknesses: the rear wheel (its the same as the front, but will die sooner) it will last for a little while.... keep a check on spoke tension and wobble.
The fork feels overall good to me for street, its way light, but its from suntour so yea... thats on the list of things to die.

This bike is a super entry level 4X bike and is good for evey occasion. I just bought my Zero yesterday and already im impressed in its "solidness" through the air and i think that people who have a budget of around $1000 in Australia this is perfect and also the paintjob is mad!!!
