from Oil City, PA, USA Date Reviewed: November 26, 2002 | | Favorite Trail: | Venango County, Sugar Creek trail | | Duration Product Used: | 1 Year | | Purchased At: | On da bike when I gots it | | Strengths: | Well, they'll stop you, but without grace.... | | Weaknesses: | Butt-Ugly- unsightly cheap looking calipers...the levers work quite well | | Similar Products Used: | Scott-pederson, Avid, Shimano Alivio | | Bike Setup: | Mongoose FS Frame, Titec bars, Kore Lite 3 stem, SRAM MRX shifters, Profile bar ends, Mozo ML-10 fork, Weinmann/Formula wheels, Kalloy post, SDG saddle, nashbar clipless pedals and cassette, derore front mech, Proshift Bombshell rear mech, KKT chain, Syncros and LX rings, Truvativ 5-D crank, nanoraptor rubbers. | | Bottom Line: | Well, I am still in love with the Avid - Pederson Se set up on my hardtail, so anything else is - to me - is inferior. they do work, regardless of what some of these snobs that have deep pockets and can afford the latest Shimolo Doo-hicky or Avid Arch supreme with cheese will tell you. there is nothing wrong with inexpensive bike parts as long as there is some degree of functionality...and they are reasonably safe. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

from France Date Reviewed: September 10, 2001 | | Duration Product Used: | 2 Years | | Strengths: | Went with other crappy components on bike, wont wear rims, cheap | | Weaknesses: | Squeaky, mushy, slow to stop, hard to adjust, no good if dirty/wet | | Similar Products Used: | Arch Rival 2.5 | | Bike Setup: | Iron horse 2.0, formery factory set up | | Bottom Line: | This (cheap) breaks will prevent you from going so fast that your tires rip off the rims in dry, warm weather. IF you want to do anythign else, buy some Single Digit 3 Avids. They are cheap and they work. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

from Indiana Date Reviewed: April 17, 1999 | | Duration Product Used: | less than 1 month | | Strengths: | Cheap , work great | | Weaknesses: | None found yet | | Similar Products Used: | Shimano Alivio Cantis with Kool Stop Pads | | Bike Setup: | Trek 930 Mozo Fork Riser bars STX drivetrain | | Bottom Line: | Was getting a new fork, and none had hangers for cantis. LBS convinced me to try these, only $10 per wheel. They stop great, quiet, easy to adjust. I use them with Tektro levers ($16 bucks each). I am a total retro-grouch, and thought I would never give up cantis. Glad I did, Better than any Shimano product I've tried. | Overall Rating: |
