    Favoriate Trail:Enchanted Forest
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
    Price Paid: $120.00
Purchased At:Used from a local racer
Strengths:Holy cow, are these wheels light. They look great too, with the shaved rims.
Weaknesses:I can feel the bladed spokes flexing in the curves. It feels like I'm cornering with grandpa's Cadillac, really floaty
Similar Products Used:Mavic 819, 321, and Sun Rhyno Lite
Bike Setup:06 Yeti 575 with Hutchinson Python UST
Bottom Line:These are good value wheels. Their weight would be good for XC racing, but the flexy bladed spokes don't help it in the descending curves.

Favoriate Trail:one that isn't too wet
Duration Product Used:More than 3 years
Strengths:no sound when coasting, and when a stick or rock hits the steel bladed spokes it sounds great. Using tire sealent on ust panaracer, all around great ride.
Weaknesses:I don't get to hear the spokes sing to me enough
Similar Products Used:I had crossmax sl v brakes before. Never liked the noise during coasting. But great rims
Bottom Line:For the price solid deal. I love the fact of sealent in tires.

Bottom Line:Researched these quite a bit before buying. Also talked with my lbs about these first. Great investment. I have taken 5 foot drops with these and ride some pretty rugged (rocky) central texas hill country with these. They are still going strong and have stayed true.

    Similar Products Used:Crossride, X321/Deore Rims
Bike Setup:Acces HT, 100mm XC Setup
Bottom Line:Matt doesn't know what he's talking about. This set is superb. 160 grams lighter than my Crossrides but every bit the soldier wheels the rides were. SExcellent value and bang for the buck.

Submitted by Matt a Cross Country Rider from CT USA
    Date Reviewed: July 13, 2007
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
    Price Paid: $250.00
    Purchased At:Direct from Mavic
Strengths:Sealed hub, can run tubeless, weight (24 spoke)Mavic name.
    Weaknesses:HUB
    Similar Products Used:Mavic X223
Bottom Line:Very disappointed. I had 2000+ miles on the x223, and my hub finally bit the dust. No replacement to be found, very outdated.
I went with the Crosstrail Disc because it was fairly light, laced with 24 spokes, and could run Tubeless. (though I typically don't) I think serious CC riders, as well as All Mountain riders would typically select similarly.

Also, sealed hub was appealing. Second week, I busted a pawl, simply jamming up a hill. The pawl kicked around inside, and damaged the hub. Mavic will not send out a replacement until they receive mine, even though I am going through my shop. I am going to go to a WTB. My buddy had problems with the same wheel, I should have listened to him the first time.

    Date Reviewed: February 8, 2007
    Favoriate Trail:Anywhere with single track
    Duration Product Used:3 months
    Price Paid: $350.00
    Purchased At:LBS
Strengths:Strong and stiff, have had no problem with truing yet, though I've only had them for a short time.
    Weaknesses:None so far.
Similar Products Used:Alex Rims with XT hubs
Bike Setup:'05 Giant Reign, Nixon fork, XT crank, and front and rear derailer, hayes 9
Bottom Line:This wheelset is much stiffer than my older rims, I kept breaking spokes in my other settup. Haven't had any complaints yet. These are stiff and light, if you don't want to spend $800 for Crossmax's, this is the wheelset to go with. Great all mountain wheelset.
