$140.00 | | Purchased At: | Cambria Bike | | Strengths: | Built with DT Comp spokes and alloy nipples, hubs roll super smooth, rims are durable | | Weaknesses: | A bit heavy, the free hub body sounds like its rotating on gravel bearings, not disc specific rims
| | Similar Products Used: | Mavic CrossRoc, many handbuilt wheels | | Bike Setup: | 2005 Jamis XLT | | Bottom Line: | Good wheelset at a nice price from Cambria. The hub bearings are sealed units and roll very smooth. They are built with DT spokes and alloy nipples and the built is top notch. The rims feature the OCR spoke bead which increases the overall strength on the wheels. I wish the "disc" version had disc specific rims...instead of the same rim that the "non-disc" version had. So far they have stayed true with some pretty aggressive riding under a heavy rider. My only real gripe is that the free hub body sounds terrible...like its bearings are square or something. It would catch at first, but now that it is broken in, seems to be working fine. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |
