$480.00 | | Purchased At: | Ebay | | Strengths: | Very tough, light, stiff and look great. Outstanding customer support! | | Weaknesses: | None really. Spokes are a little harder to replace than on your standard wheels, but unless you really, really abuse the spokes, they won't need to be replaced. See below. | | Similar Products Used: | Mavic and others. | | Bike Setup: | Turner 5 Spot | | Bottom Line: | These wheels are just incredible; I am amazed by their durability. They stayed factory trued for more than a thousand miles! I weigh 200 lbs and ride between XC and all mountain. The other day I managed to stick a log into my rear wheel and broke a few spokes. Called Spinergy support, and in 3 days I had my new spokes. They were very helpful, even sent more than I ordered and included new spoke tools for no extra charge. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$400.00 | | Purchased At: | Spinergy | | Strengths: | Great product, I have raced on these wheels for two years, I have never had to have them trued, you cant beat the white spokes, I have two damaged spokes from wrecks but they still keep going, you cant beat their customer service, they reply to emails within the same day I like to just email them just to tell them how well the weels are holding up, I would recomend them to anyone, weekend rider, racer, who ever they are great, I retired my mavics for these and have never went back. and I am running with the stans no tubes kit and have not had one flat in two years. | | Weaknesses: | bearing wear a little fast, but they will stand behind their product, the bearing are starting to go out and gave them a call, bam, new bearings, for no charge, you cant beat their customer service. | | Similar Products Used: | Mavic crossmax XL, Bontrager Race Lite, Bontrager Race X lite, | | Bike Setup: | Trek Top Fuel 98 carbon, Race face crank, XTR rear, front derailer, Spinergy cyclone disk wheels, Thompson stem, seatpost, maxxis crossmark tires, crank brother pedals, hayes stroker disk brakes, fox rear and front shock. | | Bottom Line: | Great wheels, affordable, they last, sexy, and you can run tubless with the stans no tubes. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$480.00 | | Purchased At: | eBay | | Strengths: | Very strong, very light, look fantasic ! | | Weaknesses: | Packaging they come in does not protect axles well, wheels are faultless however. | | Similar Products Used: | Mavics. | | Bike Setup: | Specialized XC Pro (warranty replacement for 03 Enduro Pro), lot's of high end parts | | Bottom Line: | I have them with white spokes and they look awesome on my red frame with black parts. On the first ride a stick the thickness of my middle finger jumped into the rear wheel and I thought 'here we go, they lasted one ride' - but no, the stick was sliced clean in two and didn't leave a single mark on the wheels, awesome !
I had them shipped from the US and the boxes didn't protect the rear axle too well as it wore a hole in the side of the box, no damage but be careful if shipping long distances.
I'm a heavy rider at 100kg so getting something competition lite that easily supports my size is excellent - and for $480 USD incredible value. The best thing is the looks though, every time I look at my bike I want to ride it - and isn't that what it's all about ?
Top Marks, one of the best uprades I've made in 20+ years of riding. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$650.00 | | Purchased At: | ebay | | Strengths: | for the light weight, excellent strength and durability... held up after doing northstar, although other components didn't, and i weigh 190+. | | Weaknesses: | if the spokes have impact on rocks or anything sharp, the outer composite layer tears, and leaves the fibrous inner-twined part exposed which tears quite easily. i'm assuming this compromises the integrity of strength, and this has resulted in me having to frequently replace spokes and true the rim. the primary problem is finding a dealer that carries the spokes. | | Similar Products Used: | many | | Bike Setup: | intense 5.5, xt shifters and derailers, face deus stem and atlas cranks, titec pluto handlebars, manitou minute and swinger 4-way for suspension, heim bashguard & chain guide, etc... | | Bottom Line: | i'm not so concerned about weight, but these wheelsets are light for the pounding that they can endure, and has helped to keep my ride at sub 30 pounds. after two years i've overhauled the rear hub once, and have to occasionally replace spokes due to the aforementioned problem. but i tend to abuse my bikes. would definitely recommend if you can afford to spend a little extra for an excellent wheelset that is light and super strong. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$350.00 | | Purchased At: | from Spinergy via Bike Shop Employee Discount coupon | | Strengths: | Bomb proof! I am an L&F female and have ridden with these wheels for four years. Have done nothing to service them, and just now have the first hint of the front hub needing to be checked over and perhaps tightened. I probably could not afford to buy another set of these wheels, but I absolutely love the ones I've got. I am changing out wheelsets on my Giant NRS2 right now to have these looked at, putting OEM Mavic X233 discs back on the bike until these are declared trail-worthy again. I am not a particularly sophisticated rider, but I think these wheels are wonderful and anyone who wants a top-quality wheelset that will last year after year, without being abused!, would be well-served by this product! | | Weaknesses: | None. Stiff as anything and capable of taking the abuse I put them through on the trail. I am impressed with the durability and strength of these wheels. A large stick got jammed in the rear spokes and eventually broke in half before I was able to stop the bike. Expensive but damn!!! great people at Spinergy too. Contacted them for some 20mm adaptors and they were great. These are fast, light and tough. I was worried at first as the appearance is that of a light duty XC wheel but they really can take it. As soon as I can scrape up some extra $$$ (that the wife doesn't know about!!! lol) I'm going to get a set of Enduro's or Fall-lines for a DH bike I'm scraping together. As gravy, you won't be lusting over something else cause you compromised, and they are unique too. Buy em for anything short of hard DH/FR. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

Still not sure what I'd do if i happen to damage a rim or spoke or hub...no distributor here in Oz. I think it's based in NZ. Anyway, terrific wheels for your XC or trail bike. These are light, rolls fast, very strong but the best part is that they're forgiving: they flex just enough to save that crooked landing. On the down side, I hope they never let me down: Not much common parts here. The quick releases should be way better (Spinergy should imitate Shimano). As for the price, well that's why I work ! The bottom line is that if you are an AM / XC rider who likes to push the enveloppe (estheticaly and on the bike) this is an obvious choice. Mavic's got a log way to go before they'll be able to match these PBO spokes. This wheelset looks son good in black rim / white spokes, I had to get a Syncros FL white stem to highlite them more. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

I've beat the crap out of these for a year and a half since the new versions came out (Michigan XC and several outwest trips). The bearings run smooth + are super super easy to maintain. They're light, but not as light as other comparable products. I think the weight on the website is accurate now, but when I bought mine they still had the weight of the old ones on there. (which were lighter - I probably wouldn't have bought them had I known)... That being said, I love the wheelset and am glad I made the purchase. I will always ride a spinergy wheel after my experience with these. Their customer service has been superb and spare spokes (not that I've needed any) are easy to get from them. I've never trued them. I did have one spoke come loose at the very begining, but none since. Bomb proof (as far as aggresive XC or AM), light, look great, fair price, great customer service... this is a no brainer, get them! I really don't do many reviews on here unless I think it's deserved. This is one of them and very justly earned in my opinion. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

These Xyclones have it all. They hold up under all kinds of abuse. I did 30 miles in the Demo with 10 spokes shredded to bits and I didn't have ANY clue that they were destroyed until I got home at night and started my cleanup. Replacement spokes are relatively cheap and I was back on the trail within a week.
Also, they are uber-light, look great and they roll very well.

The freehub body and axle will let you down if you ride more than 5,000 miles a year. I have not had a problem with there customer service. Crossmaxes and everything else crumble after a year of riding, It was a year before I had to true my rear spinergy wheel. With all that said, the positives out weigh the negatives, I own two sets of wheels, one for the race bike with the lefty and the other for the enduro. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$500.00 | | Purchased At: | Ebay | | Strengths: | Super lightweight, unique design, turns heads | | Weaknesses: | the bad reviews, which would be nice if they changed, customer support seems limited | | Similar Products Used: | sun ryno lites, mavic 819s | | Bike Setup: | '06 Cannondale Prophet, Amoeba scud carbon bars & seatpost, '05 manitou minute 03 forks SRAM x9 bits, crank bros candy sl pedals | | Bottom Line: | to be honest, when i first dragged these babies out of the box i thought, how the heck are these gona hold me up?? it takes a bit of abusive riding to develop some trust in these 'modern technology' wheels, and thats what i gave them. dumped on a 5" trail bike they have handled the works so far. to put them in context, i had a bearing issue with my cannondale prophet thanks to some dropoffs, and the spynergys came out fine. i thought it would be vice versa, but fortunately not. it seems the newer releases of these wheels have been worked on, as i have had no troubles with them yet and i love their fast acceleration and head turner appearance. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |
