from newport beach, ca, usa Date Reviewed: June 8, 2006 | | Favoriate Trail: | laguna ridge trail | | Duration Product Used: | 6 months | | Purchased At: | laguna cyclery | | Strengths: | Inexpensive, burly | | Weaknesses: | heavy | | Similar Products Used: | DT Swiss FR 6.1 | | Bike Setup: | SC Blur | | Bottom Line: | i used these wheels in agressive freeriding and they were bomber. a bit heavy, but have withstood many nasty impacts on technical rocky trails that lighter wheels probably would not have. for what they are, a low cost wheel that will last, i like 'em. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

from Ontario, Canada Date Reviewed: April 11, 2005 | | Duration Product Used: | Less than 1 month | | Strengths: | They look nice. | | Weaknesses: | I managed to kill the rear wheel's hub in about a week of what I'd call very gentle trials riding. | | Bottom Line: | I don't know if my case is uncommon, but I haven't been mean to these wheels at all and the rear wheel has horizontal play (wobbles on the hub) of about 2-4mm. It feels totally gross and I'm affraid to ride them any more. The worst I've done to it is maybe rear-wheel bouncing (light bouncing, and I'm a light guy) and a 2-and-half-foot drop. These shouldn't kill a "beefy freeride wheelset", and certainly not in the time I've ridden them. If you're easier on your bikes than I've been in the last week on mine, the wheels might be for you. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |
