$250.00 | | Purchased At: | Ebay | | Strengths: | Good lightweight rim | | Weaknesses: | Don't hold up to stress. | | Similar Products Used: | Mavic | | Bottom Line: | I sold both of my Bontrager wheelsets - these rims cannot handle a rider of 185 pounds. Both of my rims had problems - the hubs cracked where the spokes connect. I will stay with the reliable Mavics, which can handle the stress and weight of a heavier rider. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$270.00 | | Purchased At: | Collector | | Strengths: | Verry Light still verry stiff | | Weaknesses: | Hard to change tire | | Similar Products Used: | Deore Xt , Deore ( with M555 Hub ) | | Bike Setup: | Proflex K-2 4000 , Nollen Racing Fork , Deore LX&XTR , Magura Evolution Brake | | Bottom Line: | This product it adress to those people that are performers in mountin biking - cross country section - . I won't recommend it for big jumps even they are good made - you can win a race of downhill or make a big jump but then you got to replace them . Best use : cross-country ( you can own supremacy with proper trainig ) | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$155.00 | | Purchased At: | Ebay | | Strengths: | Good lateral stiifness, tough wheel | | Weaknesses: | Not as light as listed by Bontrager | | Similar Products Used: | Mavic Crossroc | | Bike Setup: | Trek Fuel 100, Full XTR | | Bottom Line: | These wheels are stiffer than the Mavic Crossrocs - and putting on the tubeless tires -always a problem with every manufacturer - you have to use tire levers no matter what they say (I always have with no problems), and you have to use Slime or some other tire sealant. Great wheels - I went with Bontrager, even though they had more spokes, because they are bombproof! | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$299.00 | | Purchased At: | sunshine | | Strengths: | they're red and my bike is red so the fact they match has to count for something. actually all that red makes the bike look like a rig built for shakes the clown. only he got to bang mrs. brady. the front wheel has been a trooper, but then if you refrain from huckin and bashin a front wheel can last years and years. the rims are strong and the spokes have been true since day 1. | | Weaknesses: | the rear hub is krap. the free hub shattered and the lbs had a hell of a time removing it. turns out the hub is hugi, which is an arm of dt, which has been known to experience specific product run defects (in other words their quality control licks crack). | | Similar Products Used: | mavic | | Bike Setup: | trek 8500 with many bontrager items (most of which have failed and been replaced). | | Bottom Line: | steer clear of this product, equally so of any wheel set equipped with hugi parts. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

from Orange Date Reviewed: October 13, 2003 | | Duration Product Used: | 6 months | | Strengths: | Absolutely none! | | Weaknesses: | Other than being the biggest piece of sh**, the rear hub keeps breaking and tires are a royal pain to mount. | | Similar Products Used: | Mavic UST Crossmax, Rolf Urraco, Rolf Propel | | Bike Setup: | K2 Razorback Team, XTR, Manitou Black, Easton | | Bottom Line: | The rear hub is absolutely useless. I've had the hub body replaced 3 times over the past 6 months. The last and final time I got it fixed, it broke on the first ride! Something with the palls breaking. It free-wheels pedaling forward about one full rotation before it catches. Totally frustrating. Another thing is that tires, tubed or tubeless are a pain to mount. You'll work up a sweat and develop hemoroids from the amount of effort it takes to mount a tire. Good luck if you flat out on a ride. This won't be me because I'm going back to my Mavics!! | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$250.00 | | Purchased At: | e-bay | | Strengths: | Look very nice; quality. Tubeless tires do ride better; traction etc... | | Weaknesses: | Mounting tires was ridiculous. Bike shop had to do it for me, even then it took two guys. If I ever get a flat I'm screwed. | | Similar Products Used: | Previously had Bontrager Super Stocks. | | Bike Setup: | Trek Fuel 90, XT, Mars Super. | | Bottom Line: | Still not sure, although for now they're great. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$225.00 | | Purchased At: | Pedalmasher.com | | Strengths: | These wheels are awesome. The hubs are better than any Ive ridden. Price. Tubeless. Light weight. | | Weaknesses: | None so far. | | Similar Products Used: | Bonty Corvairs. These Races are so much lighter I can tell a huge difference. I am flying up climbs that I once struggled on. | | Bike Setup: | '02 Fisher HooKoo. zocchi, full xt, python UST, eggbeaters (very sweet), and King Headset | | Bottom Line: | This is the best Tubeless wheelset for the price I think | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$350.00 | | Purchased At: | CAme with the Bike | | Strengths: | Tubeless System..Good Hubs..Light Weight..easy to true (Round Spokes) | | Weaknesses: | Not Laterally Stiff...Tends to rub slightly on brake pads if your a heaivier rider...170+.....doesn't have ceramic braking surface | | Similar Products Used: | Mavic CrossRoc | | Bike Setup: | Specialized M4 XTR...Specialized S-Works | | Bottom Line: | Book wheelset overall...but the rubing on the brake pads could Bug the hell out of the sloppiest of riders...I know what your think'en ..Loosen the brakes a little...sorry that doesnt work, unless you feel Like pulling your levers to the bar...in that case your just an idiot... | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$300.00 | | Purchased At: | ebay | | Strengths: | excellent light weight wheels, great hubs. | | Weaknesses: | tubeless tire system. | | Similar Products Used: | Shimano WM-535 | | Bike Setup: | Mongoose zero-G shimano xt/deore/lx guts | | Bottom Line: | These wheels have an excellent ride, spins almost effortlessly love everything about them except the tubeless tire system. The tubeless tires were such a pain in the a** to put on! it was Deffinetly not worth to even trouble with them. After about 1hour and several scratches on my rims later the tires started to spring leaks. I chose to go with the Bontrager JONES AC tubed tires instead.... The technology sounds nice, but no one has an idea on how to impove on it yet so these are an excellent set of wheels, but you simply can do without the pain of tubeless products. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$200.00 | | Strengths: | None | | Weaknesses: | wasnt perfectly trued form the factory and spokes were unevenly tension with slack on one side of the wheel | | Similar Products Used: | Bontrager mustang rims on nukeproof hubs, mavic 225 rims on specialized hubs, bontrager race wheelset, and rolf dolominite | | Bike Setup: | Gary Fisher Paragon xt/xtr | | Bottom Line: | i think for the level this wheelset, i believe that it is not worth the money and lacked quality control. But i did only pay 200 for them | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |
