    Date Reviewed: October 25, 2006
    Duration Product Used:3 months
Strengths:Light, low rolling resistance, comfortable, more puncture proof than other conventional tubes that are as light.
Weaknesses:Inflate them before every ride, they loose air slowly.
    Similar Products Used:Schwalbe extra light
Bike Setup:Spec.Epic, 80 RLT, Marta SL, DT Swiss 240, Thompson, Chris King, XT.
Bottom Line:I use them with Nobby Nick 2,1, aprox.2,3 Bar, my weight 68kg. No more flats on rougher downhills, no more puntures. For me, inflating before every ride is not a problem: no more flats, more comfort, better traction, lower rolling resistance. Let's see how long they last.

    Weaknesses:Have to pump every day.
Similar Products Used:butyl tubes of all kinds
Bike Setup:RM Blizzard; Mavic XM719/XT; Magura Ronin 110 forks; Magura Rim brakes; Schwalbe RR/NN 2.25
Bottom Line:Used the tubes during 6 day Alps crossing, 12000 hm, high speed rocky descents. No flats, no problems.

    Duration Product Used:1 Year
    Price Paid: $15.00
    Purchased At:some Norwegian bikeshop
Strengths:Doesn't easily puncture during ride. Light
Weaknesses:Latex=leaking. Must be pumped every day.
Most seriously, there seems to be a weakness about 2 cm. from the ventil. It blows here without warning.
Similar Products Used:Other butyl tubes, no other latex
Bike Setup:Merida magnesium, Mar.marathon SL, XT and XTR.
Bottom Line:Do not buy...it's too unpredictable. Especially, I wouldn't race with this one...

Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Bike Setup:Sugar 1, Bomber, XTR, Avid Arch Rivals
Bottom Line:Don't use this tube unless you enjoy changing flats. Mine pinch flatted within 1/2 mile of putting it in. That's the sum total of my experience with it. I won't be experiencing more.

    Duration Product Used:1 Year
    Price Paid: $15.00
    Purchased At:Cecil Walker Cycles
Strengths:Light and flexible, increase road feel and add 0.5 kph to your average speed over long distances.
    Weaknesses:Pumping before each ride
    Similar Products Used:N/A
Bike Setup:Trek Madone 5.9 OCLV 110, with Dura-ace. Upgrade to Zipp Z2 wheels.
Bottom Line:I only use this tube on race days. DOn;t bother using this kind of tube for day to day riding, too unpredictable, fidly and you gotta keep on pumping. Great for race days though.

    Duration Product Used:1 Year
    Price Paid: $25.00
    Purchased At:Cycle1st.com
    Strengths:Light and relatively puncture reistant.
    Weaknesses:Rotten attachment to the tube.
    Similar Products Used:Continental, Maxxis
Bike Setup:Marin Mount Vision. Full XT. Hope hubs on Masic X717 Disc rims. Hope Mini Discs. Easton bits.
Bottom Line:I have had endless trouble with these tubes. Four of these have leaked around where the presta valve is attached to the mian body of the tube. It's a fault in certain batches. Fortunately I got them for a good price & got them changed right away no trouble.

    Date Reviewed: November 26, 2003
Duration Product Used:More than 3 years
    Price Paid: $15.00
    Purchased At:LBS
Strengths:Very light tubes with good feel... good puncture resistance.
    Makes your bike really fast...
Weaknesses:Valve stem not threaded which means that you cannot use a lock-nut. I have had several failures due to the tube around the valve puncturing due to the valve twisting in the rim caused by heavy braking on the front or acceleration on the rear. This cannot be repaired...very annoying and frustrating.
Similar Products Used:Panaracer Greenlite... dont make me larf... rubbish.
Standard butyl... heavy with less feel.
    Bike Setup:Yes thanks.
Bottom Line:Excellent tubes but could be even better with threaded valve stems. All the junked tubes are due to this as when the valve tears out of the tube it cannot be repaired. If it was'nt for this they would probably last for years and years...

    Duration Product Used:1 Year
    Price Paid: $10.00
    Purchased At:JT Cycles
Strengths:Light, responsive, comfotable, fast, very few punctures, when used with fast kevlar tyres (ie Kenda Kosmik Lites) seriously quick...worth 3-4 mph
Weaknesses:A tad expensive, need to run at slightly higher pressures as they squash easier than butyl tubes (ie in bottom of holes, crossing shallow ditches etc).
Similar Products Used:Super light butyl tubes..explode, air B...heavy,slower, less sensitive, some Dutch Latex tubes ?? similar to Air B
Bike Setup:Santa Cruz Superlight, Fox RL, Float RLC, XTR, hope/Mavic rear wheel, A-Z light weight front wheel, Kenda Kosmik Lites or 1.8 Trailblaster rear with 1.95 IRC Mythos front, Raceface, titec, wtb
Bottom Line:Top product, worth the money, will make yer bike FLY...........

    Date Reviewed: January 12, 2003
    Duration Product Used:2 Years
    Price Paid: $8.00
    Purchased At:bike-discount.de
Weaknesses:It effectively leaks air. This is latex!
Similar Products Used:Many other butyl tubes, as well as a s*!t called Flyweight (4 tubes in a month!)
    Bike Setup:Doesn't matter.
    Bottom Line:Simply resistant. Simply light.
If a day I should ever switch to another tube, it means that the market really proposed a new, revolutionary product, or that I use tubeless rims.

    Strengths:light, green
Weaknesses:leaks like a sieve; really, really expensive
    Similar Products Used:standard butyl
    Bike Setup:fisher supercal
Bottom Line:id recommend as a race only item- mine leak 10-15psi a day, and having to pump your tires every time you ride gets really old.

Submitted by Michele a Weekend Warrior from Switzerland
    Date Reviewed: July 25, 2002
    Duration Product Used:1 Year
    Strengths:Lightweigth, great pinchflat reduction
Weaknesses:Do leak some air, because of latex composition. Need regular inflation.
If a (rare) pinch flat occurs, the tube may "explode", loosing pressure immediately.
Similar Products Used:Common tubes, and sh*t called MAXXIS Flyweight (4 tubes in one month!)
    Bike Setup:C'dale Jeckyll
Bottom Line:The best compromise between weight and pinchflat resistance.
Butil light tubes are too thin, and do not offer the same resistance.

    Date Reviewed: April 9, 2002
    Favoriate Trail:El Prieto in Pasadena
    Duration Product Used:1 Year
Strengths:Light weight, and they never flat.
Weaknesses:They do loose air over time, the air permiates through the laytex, you have to pump before you pedal.
Similar Products Used:Mr Tuffy, SpinSkins, Slime
Bike Setup:Titus Switchblade with Panaracer Fire XC Pro's 2.1 tires
Bottom Line:I don' agree with the previous post at all. I put these in a year ago and (tempting fate here)I haven't had a flat since. I mean between loosing the weight and never having to stop on the trail and change a tube, its a no brainer! Buy theses and forget about flats. You do have to pump them up (they loose air very slowly) every 4 days or so to your exact pressure but that way you have consistency in your set up. Also you can run low pressures and increase traction and not have to worry. Why use a regular tube again?

    Date Reviewed: March 31, 2002
    Duration Product Used:3 months
    Price Paid: $10.00
    Purchased At:LBS
    Strengths:Very light and skinny.
    Weaknesses:Prone to pinch!
    Similar Products Used:Quite others
Bike Setup:GT Agressor '01 1.0, XT Hollow, LX/XT, Sram 9.0SL, Mavic CrossRide and others
Bottom Line:Those damn tubes pinch a lot (yeah, they're quite light, but you never need to remove weight from a tube), I bought a pack of 10 and for using I needed to fit a pinch armor into my tyres to avoid flats. So the weight losed with the tubes I gained with the pinch armor.

Stay very far from those damn tubes, another problems is that the pinch cannot be fixed, the normal repair kits don't work with latex tubes.
