Submitted by gary a Weekend Warrior from huntersville, NC
Date Reviewed: May 24, 2007
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $172.00
Purchased At:eBay
Strengths:Sturdy frame. Bike mounts easily. Good resistance & stability.
Weaknesses:Knobs came broken in box and seem cheep compared to rest of the unit. I am having a hard time finding replacements. A lot of vibration and noise from fluid as it warms up.
Similar Products Used:Minoru Rollers
Bike Setup:Older Specialized Allez steel frame w/Shimano 600 Group. Speedplay pedals Vredestein tires.
Bottom Line:A good trainer at 172.50 but maybe not worth the 230.00 retail price. I wish I could get btter customer support and easier access to replacement parts. Good for the serious rider but might fall short for the very Hard-Core.

Submitted by Joe Swift a Weekend Warrior from Middletown, CT
Date Reviewed: January 26, 2005
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $175.00
Purchased At:ebay
Strengths:Frame itself is well made. Good price.
Weaknesses:Have not had problems with the plastic knobs, but they look to be a step down in terms of durability compared to the rest of the frame.
Similar Products Used:First fluid trainer. Used a Minoura magnetic.
Bike Setup:Trek road
Bottom Line:Fluid unit takes at 5 - 10 minutes to warm up. In the meantime, it sometimes vibrates if I try to push it beyond 250 - 300 watts towards the beginning of a workout. Once it's warmed up, it smoothes itself out and it seems to work OK. It's not an issue on long easy sessions, but it can be annoying when I am jumping on and trying to get a shorter/higher intensity workout.

Submitted by Jay a Weekend Warrior from Orange, CA
Date Reviewed: February 2, 2004
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $189.00
Purchased At:Supergo
Strengths:Cant say yet.
Weaknesses:Plastic parts seem fragile as they have broken in the box or elsewhere.
Similar Products Used:None
Bike Setup:MTN - Specialized Stumpjumper Xcountry pro- 98
Bottom Line:I have yet to use the machine. The first one I bought had a broken plastic knob used to tighten the stand to the bike so I returned it for another one. The knob looked OK, but when I went to use it another plastic piece was broken rendering it unuseable. I recommend setting your bike up on it at the store to be sure it is in working order. I am now concerned about the quality and a bit frustrated - time is money, so I give it a low value rating, but have to presume it would have performed well overall.
