    Favoriate Trail:every trail
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
    Price Paid: $75.00
    Purchased At:Libike
Strengths:These are 3C tires with three different compounds.
They have good grip and they look good.
Weaknesses:Massive rolling resistance that I haven't ever experienced. Wears quickly
Similar Products Used:Maxxis Minion 42a, Mobster, Kenda kollosal, some Schwalbe
Bottom Line:These triple compound tires have so massive rolling resistance that old ladies on old bicycles will be faster that you on the road as you are trying to get to hills. On downhill track they offer good grip, but no better than my old minion with 42a compound (which have much less rolling resistance).
These tires are for downhill riders who don't need to pedal all the way to get to DH track.

Strengths:Super adhesive grip in all conditions! You can trust your life on these tyres.
Weaknesses:They wear out when you ride them on the road - but who rides on the road anyway...?
Similar Products Used:Kenda Nevegal, Maxxis High Roller, Intense
Bike Setup:2007 Banshee Chaparral, Fox DH40's, SRAM and custom wheels, running 2.5" Minions.

Strengths:Confidence inspiring, grippy. Durable. Great value!
Weaknesses:Only minor weakness is the weight but the strengths far outweigh the weakness on this beauty.
Similar Products Used:Various WTB, Nevegals, Hutchinson.
    Bike Setup:Scott Ransom 10.
Bottom Line:This is the best tire I have ridden. Very confidence inspiring. It corners amazingly well, it is as if the tire actively seeks out traction. This tire has never caused me to fall and I have never ridden faster. You simply must try this tire. It even climbs well. I run the 2.35 front tire (42 durometer) and the 2.35 60 durometer folding rear. This has got to be one of the best tire combos on the planet!

    Favoriate Trail:7th Secret
    Duration Product Used:1 Year
Strengths:Sticky. It grips where other tires can't. Great for shoulder/off-season riding in steep, wet, rooty terrain.
Weaknesses:None for what it's intended for.
Similar Products Used:Kenda, Nokian, Maxxis Larson TT (for hardpack x-country only).
Bike Setup:Cove Hustler packed with RaceFace.
Bottom Line:I use these in the off-season when the weather's rough and the trails are slick. I haven't seen anything that'll hold on to wet roots & rocks & mud this well. Confidence inspiring to say the least. The soft compound wears, but that's why it works.

Favoriate Trail:Anywhere along the "Mighty" Rio Grand
    Duration Product Used:3 months
    Purchased At:Came on my Yeti
Strengths:Fairly grippy and confidence inspiring for downhill.
Weaknesses:Not much good elsewhere. Heavy and they suck in sand, suprizing for a 2.3. Didn't wear too well but I guess that would be a strength because I got to spoon on some excellent WTB Mutano Raptors!
Similar Products Used:WTB Mutano Raptor UST (a favorite of mine), Hutchinson Scorpions, Some Specialized and Michelins.
Bike Setup:Yeti 575 mostly stock except for UST wheels. Oh, and I had to narrow the bars an inch on each side 'cuz I just haven't caught on to the wide bar craze, I like to ride in the narrow, technical stuff.
Bottom Line:Well, they came on my new 575 or else they wouldn't have been my first choice. I probably would have speced it with some Conti downhill tires instead. But they were there so I tried them out. Fortunately they wear pretty fast so I could try the Mutano Raptors.

    Purchased At:College Cyclery
Strengths:Awesome climber, corners well, good on downhill
Weaknesses:Wears out quickly, especially given the price
Similar Products Used:Panaracer Fire Trail, Maxxis Adrenaline, Specialized, WTB, Geax
Bike Setup:Yeti 575 Enduro Pro, stock with a few additional cool toys
Bottom Line:You have to get over the fact this tire wears out quickly and is slightly expensive and just enjoy it. I ride the "sticky" version, and it corners well, great traction on rock climbs and great on downhill runs. Not the cheapest tire out there, but if you ride southern California rock and sand trails I recommend you give it a try. I'll be buying another set when these wear out, which will be pretty soon.
I'm only giving it 4 flaming chilis because I keep hoping someone will make a tire that sticks like glue, hooks up great and doesn't cost a fortune. Hey, a guys gotta have a dream....

Weaknesses:Nothing, would not recommend at all. These "DH" tires are nothing but trash. My old XC WTB veloeraptor's performed better in the mountains. While i was an a DH tour they wore out completely in two hours!! I mean completly bare, no tread at all. I have never seen any tired die so fast! Also when i got a third pair they shredded while going through some light gravel! (How does that happen) There were huge slashes throught the middle like some one had taken a knife to em but no one did!

Excellent traction on loose stuff rocks and wet situations.
Weaknesses:At sharp turns which you can go and lean in the corner side so you have to change direction in an upright position they slip a little. Also show drawbacks on paved surfaces but their not designed for paved .
In autumns when its thorn season you really need anti thorn tubes on them the space between the patterns are very thin and soft' a good meal for thorns.

Similar Products Used:WTB moto Raptor, Kenda

Bottom Line:The reason I got these tires is because they come with 2-Ply sidewalls, while most other tires only have one. This means that your tube is super protected. I have used and abused these tires, and done thing that would have flat any other tire. I strongly recommend! I'm getting a pair for the new bike i'm building. I use the 2.5 version and it's great! However, if you ride the roads a lot expect some roll resistance as the tires stick to the street a little too well, but this makes them great on dirt. worth the money

Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Strengths:Started riding the front specific too and its awesome on the hardpack, dry, loose and rocks of any sort, grips great rolls surprisingly fast for a soft tire, must be the ramped knobbies. Also take the small gravel and really smooths it out since the rubber is so soft and slow rebounding, makes climbing technical spots with loose rocks over it makeable and almost easy.
Weaknesses:Avoid mud at all cost this tire is horrible in anything wet beyond leafs and sand. If you hit clay this tire will pack up to the gills and make you slide around like you are on ice, back tire clears better than front but avoid the mud, must be the 40 dura on it that makes the mud cake up.
    Similar Products Used:WTB, Tioga, Pana....
    Bike Setup:36# FR KHS
Bottom Line:Great for the dry and climbs/rolls way better than expected for a softy. Avoid pavement if possible this tire has so much stick you can hear it sticking and releasing riding on pavement. Still well worth the 17$ per side if you like to go fast downhill and stay in control, rails corners like no other tire I've tried. Avoid clay at all cost even if it means carring your FR/DH rig over the slop, no kidding!

Bottom Line:Great tires, great traction. These are one of the best "newer generation" tires out there. My rear has passed away because it's been worn down, but these were great tires and they stick like glue.
