Fast and SMOOOOOOTH. For steep, sketchy, rutted loose descents, forget it. The tire's profile is so rounded, it just LOVES getting sucked into whatever rut it gets near. Having ridden the SpeedMax on the *same* trails with the *same* ruts, it was never a problem with them. I've noticed a big difference in front end grip, even running at 35psi. I'm going to spoon the Innovaders onto my second string bike which I use for commuting to work (98% of which is on pavement) and scoring a set of Kenda Small Block Eights for my trail bike. If you ride a lot of hard pack and pavement, the Innovader is a GREAT tire with good wear characteristics, but if you need the front end hooked up in the steep stuff (I ate it last weekend due to a lack of front end control), go with a tire that has bolder side blocks. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

Good grip for a fast tire

My riding is mostly gravel road up and steep singletrack down, so i wanted something light on the rear for the climbs. This tire fits the bill, and even behaves in mud. Doesn't pack up and gets some traction, although it's squirrely when descending muddy singletrack.
Climbs well, this tire let me clean a steep, sand-over-hardpack section that usually gives me trouble.
On the down side, I got my first ever pinch flat with this tire, bombing down a rocky fireroad. I was running at 35 psi, now I run at least 40, as recommended on the sidewall. I like a beefier tire in front, but for a fast rolling rear tire the Innovader rocks! If I wanted hybrid tire for pavement and offroad, this would be on my list. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

First ride was on soaking asphalt and when I had to hit the brakes to avoid hitting a car both wheels skidded but now that the hard glace on them has gone away the grip onto any surface, rocks, roots, gravel, asphalt, concrete, dirt, grass think you get the picture! Its only the mud performance that makes me give the tire only 4 hot ones in overall rating but the value is teriffic...
