$30.00 | | Purchased At: | LBS | | Strengths: | -cornering on DRY conditions is super!!!! -unstopable for XC and more
| | Weaknesses: | -all weaknesses of any slick/competition tires -it's a compleat different experience from blue boazo. R -nokian stop producing the blue one | | Similar Products Used: | nokian gazza.core 2.1/boazo. x, huchinsons pythons, maxxis highroller/larsenTT, ritchey zmaxs, continentals diesel/gravity/escape pro and so on... | | Bike Setup: | Giant escaper'92 (hardtail), Manitou Axel 100mm(om),Hayes disc brake, Mavic mx 321(f) and Mavic D521(r) | | Bottom Line: | I needed something different for my REAR tire, some new experiences. The X one never stops on sunny days. Always full speed ahead on dry/compact trials and single tracks. This tire has the same corner abilities as boazo. R which is amazing. The center knobs it's not the same story, there's something that gives a good traction and not good as a roller. Odd! The X is very confortable for a non tubeless and the rubber wears off fast, like 300km fast but always quality soft rubber and compleat sideknobs. My weight is over 100Kg and i use nokian or maxxis fr/dh tubes. It never pinched!! Until the sunny day it blast(something around 1000Km). That was a ride to remember, old people screaming on the bus stop, fortunately i was half km away from home. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

I got caught in a thunderstorm on my first ride with these tires and ended up biting the dust 5 times within an hour. They are dangerous on anything that is wet! | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

from Ypsilanti, MI, USA Date Reviewed: June 4, 2004 | | Favoriate Trail: | Potowatami | | Duration Product Used: | 3 months | | Purchased At: | Wheels in Motion | | Strengths: | quick, low rolling resistance. Great for X-country | | Weaknesses: | cornering, wear resistance | | Similar Products Used: | many tires over the years | | Bike Setup: | Kona Kula Deluxe upgraded to full SRAM X.0 drivetrain | | Bottom Line: | The tires are definately quick. They don't do well is loose conditions or are that great at cornering. Have had one pinch flat in the three months I've had them and the rear has worn down to almost nothing, granted I do a lot of city riding (to work and the like). These tires came stock on my new Kona and am definately looking for a replacement. Have wiped out too many times on loose conditions on turns that aren't that steep. The tires feel light though and if you're a speed junky you may like them. Overall not very happy with these tires. I have never had the problems of hookup and wearability from any other tire I've owned although this is the first 1.95 sized tire I've ever ridden. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

I have had three pinch flats in the last month and I only weigh 140 lbs. | | Similar Products Used: | Panaracers Fire Pro XC | | Bike Setup: | Santa Cruz Chameleon hardtail. Bomber MXR, XT Hydro's brakes. | | Bottom Line: | Very disappointed with these tires. They made my rides extremely frustrating on technical sections with there lack of grip. I have never pinch flats with the Panaracers and as mentioned earlier I had three in the last month using these tires. Unless you are doing easy hardpack riding I would not recommend them. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$80.00 | | Purchased At: | universal cycles | | Strengths: | fast rolling, good racer tire. cool blue color. turns heads, doesnt wear fast
| | Weaknesses: | slippery when wet. sucks in sticky wet mud and rooty sections. made me a little scared in hard turns. | | Similar Products Used: | fire xc pro and pyro | | Bike Setup: | nokian boazobeanas front and rear | | Bottom Line: | These tires are definitely not worth the $80 I paid for them the much cheaper panaracers worked far better. Im going back to panaracer.
the only reason to buy these tires would be (a) you live in a dry area or , (b) youre an xc racer. thats what those tires are good at, quite good. but they are bad in mud. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

from Pretoria , South Africa Date Reviewed: December 15, 2000 | | Duration Product Used: | 3 months | | Strengths: | Excellent in wet conditions | | Weaknesses: | Not too good on hardpack They wear quickly | | Similar Products Used: | Continental verical/traction/navigator pro; WTB Velociraptor; Hutchinson Python; Bontrager revolt ST2; IRC semi's | | Bike Setup: | Bombproof hardtail | | Bottom Line: | This is a wet weather tire . They work really well in mud . They do not pack up too much , and they maintain good grip on wet rocks and roots .
They actually work well amongst loose rocks and sand as well .
Unfortunately their hardpack performance is not too good , but they were not made for that . As long as you are careful when you corner , they get the job done .
Rolling resistance is good as far as wet weather tires are concerned .
Overall , this is the best wet weather tire I have tried | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$38.00 | | Purchased At: | Cykloteket | | Strengths: | Mud grip, Mud rinse, Funky color, Low rolling-resistance | | Weaknesses: | Poor cornering, Slides out on roots, Wears fast | | Similar Products Used: | Pythons, Mythos, Zmax, FireXCpro | | Bike Setup: | Kona HT | | Bottom Line: | Reviewing Boazobeana R 2.1 ice-blue.
Low rolling resistance, going straight, come to a corner and experience an unpredictable wobbly feel on hard surfaces.
Excellent traction and rinse in mud, for such a light and fast tire.
Excellent sideways slip on wet roots, them wide channels just suck in roots and sends the rear flinging sideways. Should you somehow manage to stay straight on a root you'll notice that the flimsy little 'knobs' in the middle of the tire manage to give almost no traction at all, should you have any left, since they instantly vaporize if you ever happen to skid-brake on tarmac.
Buy this tire if you ride straight on hardpack between great big pools of mud.
Dont buy it if you like wet, rooty singletrack riding.
The blue compound looks great, but performance is not up to par with the looks.
