Description:Steve Larsen designed the Oriflamme specifically for hard terrain NORBA NCS cross country and short track courses. Diamond knurled center pattern provides effortless acceleration to speed and the Oriflamme?s low, slightly arced semi-knobs perform to give braking and acceleration. Square-shaped side lugs carve corners and are still low enough to not fold on hardpack or rocks. Our racing development program brought the Oriflamme to the public in 2001.

    Favoriate Trail:Swedetown
    Duration Product Used:6 months
    Price Paid: $50.00
    Purchased At:ebay
Strengths:Good traction in dry conditions most surfaces up here in the UP of Michigan. Roll extremely well for a wide tire. (2.0 seams almost as wide as 2.25s) Surprised how well they gripped when climbing. Cleared two sections of the Maasto trail where I normally lose traction and pushed the bike up.
Weaknesses:I have them set up with UST rims as tubeless tires with sealant. The cornering is okay but not confidence inspiring this way.
Similar Products Used:WTB Mutano Raptor 2.4, 2.24, Panaracer XC, 2.1, Bontrager Revolt 1.95
Bike Setup:Ventana X-5, Sram Drivetrain (x.9), Hope Hubs, Mavic 819 rims, Mav SC32 fork.
Bottom Line:For dry, hardpack conditions these tires fly. Under normal cornering I had no issues whatsoever. Up in the Harbor where things are a bit more narly and rooty, I had some issues with the cornering . . . seemed squishy. I allude part of the problem to using non-UST tires in a tubeless set up. Am overall very pleased with these tires. Roll very well and grip great when I'm not "pushing the envelope".
