from Houston Date Reviewed: June 5, 2008 | | Favorite Trail: | Jack Brooks Home Stretch | | Duration Product Used: | 3 months | | Purchased At: | Came on my 07 Rockho | | Strengths: | Great all around tire, light weight | | Weaknesses: | No specific strength. When I go out I'm either going on the road (got some Nimbus's for that) or i'm going to the trails (I've only swapped to the Resolutions for that). Fast Tracks don't do nearly as well in sandy downhill turns as the Resolutions, or roll as smooth when I'm riding in the city as the Nimbus. | | Bottom Line: | Good if you can't change a tire, but...learn to change your tires! | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

They are also lightweight. good for turning. | | Weaknesses: | Not so much grip, whenever i ride up this steep hill by my house i spin the back tire. | | Bike Setup: | '08 Rockhopper with FR rims | | Bottom Line: | Good tires for the price if you just do basic xc stuff and not all mountain. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$35.00 | | Purchased At: | local shop | | Strengths: | My S-works version LK's are super fast, super duper light weight....and ohhh sooo smooth! They have excellent grip for their size. | | Weaknesses: | Not as grippy as Resolutions or Nevegals....but not too far off either. Face it....just not as big or as knobby as other tires. | | Similar Products Used: | Specialized Resolution, standard knob Fast Trak pro's, Kenda Kharma L3R pro stick e, Kenda Nevegals stick e, and too many more to remember. | | Bike Setup: | '06 Stumpjumper FSR....Fox Floats...Mavic Crossmax | | Bottom Line: | These tires are excellent for those who want a super fast, super lightweight tire that has good traction. These tires pedal smooth and will make you want to accelerate harder and you'll not only find yourself riding faster and longer...but you won't be as tired after a long trek. I'm using the S works versions and their riding on Crossmaxs. As far as traction goes....they aren't the grippiest I've used...but they definately can grip with anything in their class....if not exceed them. Traction is very good considering how small the knobs are...i.e. LK's.
These tires definately rip and make me a better rider. They suprised me as far as how well they grip on hardpack, loose hardpack, and even sand. Don't let the small knobs and slightly skinny width fool you. Don't get me wrong a wider tire does have better grip (Resolutions) but for their size....these grip excellent! The slight loss of traction that I don't get versus a bigger tire is outweighed by how light and fast these guys are. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

from Rochester Date Reviewed: December 1, 2007 | | Favorite Trail: | Addison Oaks | | Duration Product Used: | 6 months | | Purchased At: | Came on my 08 Rockhopper | | Strengths: | Rolls really well, good grip on rocks, tough tire and can take some hits. Great on hard pack trails and some mid wet conditions, Gets good grip on wet clay. | | Weaknesses: | It could use a little more bit when making fast corners on down hills. I had a little sliding during a XC race this fall( I was going about 20 mph maybe more). You need to play with the air pressure to get it right for the corners, I run 42 in the back and 40 in the front. I race Clydesdale class. I am about 230. | | Bike Setup: | 08 Rockhopper, Rhino Lite rims 36 spoke | | Bottom Line: | I have really grown to like this tire. Once I figure out the air pressure thing and also learned how to corner better in general.I ride with very fast riders and had to learn how to take corners faster to keep up.When climbing you have to make sure you got enough weight on the bike to keep it hooked up. It does really well on rocky trails(Michigan Tech in the UP of Michigan)It has handle everything I have throw at it very well, it is very surprising being that it has such low knobs, from the older style Fast Tracs. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |
