Description:The FireCross is based upon the award winning Fire XC Pro. An excellent cross tire, it sheds mud well, rolls well on dry hard surfaces and won't blow confidence in hard corners. It'll fit that 29" bike and grip the trail well even when climbing out of the saddle.

Date Reviewed: October 9, 2006
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $25.00
Purchased At:Cambria Bike
Strengths:Very good traction in most conditions, relatively light weight, good cushion for a small volume tire. Rolling resistance seemed to be good too - not the greatess, but considering such deep treads it rolls pretty well.
Weaknesses:It's not a big volume plush tire for those looking for that trait.

Bike Setup:* Niner SIR9 f/f
* Salsa Delgado Cross rims, Hope XC hubs, DT Comp spokes, 36x
* Thomson post & stem
* Airborne Ti bar, Odi Rogue grips, Cane Creek ergo barends
* SRAM shifters & derailers
* RaceFace crankset
* Avid BB7 calipers & SD7 levers
Bottom Line:A great all-purpose, small volume tire. Not necessarily made for the big tire fanatic. But for those looking for a tire for general purpose riding, or for weekend warrior racers who don't have the time or money to be switching tires for many different types of terrain, this tire is a very nice choice.
