a Racer
from Leduc Alberta Canada Date Reviewed: December 30, 2005 | | Duration Product Used: | 3 months | | Purchased At: | River Valley Cycle | | Strengths: | pretty lite and strong... | | Weaknesses: | doesn't shed mud very well, treads have worn down fast....a 5 inch long crack has appeared between the centre set of treads and the outers. about halc a centimeter deep.... where did that come from? and how long will my new tire last with that big crack.... wish it was double ply instead of single | | Similar Products Used: | I used kenda kinetics for jumping and trails too.... and they have lasted a whole lot longer | | Bike Setup: | Rocky Mountain Flow 3.0 '05 | | Bottom Line: | Maybe it was freak that they cracked so fast..... I don't want to dish out another 70 bucks with the chance that my new one might crack after 4 months too. I think I will go for either double ply or something new. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

from colorado high country Date Reviewed: November 20, 2005 | | Duration Product Used: | 1 Year | | Strengths: | ummm, got a few sets for free? | | Weaknesses: | sidewalls are WeAk! heavy, too darn hard durometer minion single ply, 6o duro | | Similar Products Used: | kenda, spec, schwalbe, tioga, wtb, bont. | | Bike Setup: | maverick with maverick
| | Bottom Line: | somehow i ended up with a couple pairs of these good for nothing tires. i dont think i am over critical but these tires have continuously failed me. i have ripped holes in 5 sidewalls so far. i cant figure out where the weight is in these poor things. in no way can i recommend these tires. the full on dh versions are ok though if weight isnt a concern. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

from Missoula, MT Date Reviewed: August 27, 2004 | | Favoriate Trail: | secret creek | | Duration Product Used: | Less than 1 month | | Price Paid: |
$20.00 | | Purchased At: | BeyondBikes.com | | Strengths: | [b]Review is for 2.35 Single Ply version.
Traction, volume, low weight, decent rolling speed, very predictable cornering | | Weaknesses: | not always on sale for $20 apiece | | Similar Products Used: | Tioga DH Pro 2.1 & 2.3; Kenda Kinetics Stick-E 2.35; Nokian Gazzaloddi DH 2.3; various WTB treads; Maxxis Mofo DH 2.35; Maxxis Minion DH Pro 2.7 Front | | Bike Setup: | Curtlo steel HT designed for 2003 Marz Z1FR QR20; various other bits; Rhyno Lite rims laced to hubs, etc. | | Bottom Line: | The finest sub-1000gms tire I've ever used. While it's only a single ply sidewall, it's as thick as some companies' DH tire sidewalls (i.e., Tioga DH Pro). Nice cushioned ride without the weight of full DH casings. Excellent traction in all soils I've ridden in the Northern Rockies, very predictable cornering, outstanding control. I was lucky to find them at $20 apiece but would pay full MSRP if necessary for these great treads. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

a Weekend Warrior
from Edmonton, AB,CAN Date Reviewed: July 30, 2004 | | Duration Product Used: | Less than 1 month | | Strengths: | Dual ply wall, almost rideable without any air! Great tread pattern, front and rear specific designs. Very little rolling resistance. Sheds mud well. | | Weaknesses: | Price, $80 CDN each. The dual ply is heavy, 1135 grams each. There is a single ply version for those who want less weight. This is a downhill/freeride tire, solid reliable performance without the fear of pinch flats and sidewall flex. Accelerates quickly. | | Bike Setup: | Rocky Mountain Slayer 30, Maxxis Minion 2.35 | | Bottom Line: | If you don't mind the extra weight nothing is more durable or reliable with great performance. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |
