Description:For XC riding and racing, it’s tough to match the standard we set with our Fat Head Ti stem. We used aerospace-grade 3/2.5 Titanium, welded together with an ingeniously minimalist single-bolt split steerer clamp and offset handlebar faceplate that eliminates direct stress on the bolts.
  • Material: Aerospace Grade 3AL / 2.5V Titanium
  • Construction: TIG-welded

    Strengths:Light, Tough, Looks
Weaknesses:A little longer than I like
    Bike Setup:Schwinn HomeGrown (Yeti build)
Bottom Line:i have no creaks or bending. very responsive. i just wish it were a bit shorter but other than that i like it. I thought about getting another stem but why change what isnt broken.

the price is a little high, but like i said it came stock with my bike so im going to give it 5/5

    Purchased At:Jenson USA
    Strengths:weight looks finish
Weaknesses:Flex, not as light as advertised, creaking noise
    Similar Products Used:Kore
Bike Setup:Full XTR -Carbon GT Idrive
Bottom Line:Too much flex for a 165 pound rider and the creaking noise that made me stop using it- I thought something might break- went back to the stock aluminum stem with better steering precision, no scary noise and a small weight penalty.
The stem weighed 150 without the hardware- so like 180gm with bolts

Bike Setup:01 Rockhopper HT with not many stock components left.
Bottom Line:Does everything you can ask of a stem. Holds my handlebars in place. Doesn't flex/bend/break. Very light and strong. Put it on, and havn't thought about it in about 2.5 years. Great stem.

Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
    Price Paid: $50.00
    Purchased At:Ebay.com
Strengths:Fantastic lightweight stem, that looks the Mutt's Nuts.
    Weaknesses:None
Similar Products Used:Nothing this close, but used Syncros Cattleprod, Azonic OCS, Salsa Pro Moto.
Bike Setup:Kona Hei Hei, Pace Carbon rigid forks, XTR/Raceface components, Hope hubs matched to Mavic Rims, and carbon seatpost/saddle and bars.
Bottom Line:What a difference a change makes. I haven't gone hardcore on the stem yet (only put it on my bike last night) but already I feel comfortable with it. Titec do a lighter Ti stem, but I'm well pleased with this benchmark item...looking forward to giving it a good thrashing this weekend!

    Price Paid: $100.00
    Purchased At:online bike source
Strengths:Super light and strong. What a handsome stem!
    Weaknesses:None yet
    Similar Products Used:Azonic 5-120mm, Easton mg60 0-110mm
Bike Setup:2000 xcr-1500,Mavic crossmax, all xtr, sid 100, sid xc, koobi, Lp carbon, easton monkey light, panaracer xc's!
Bottom Line:What a sharp looking stem! I was very saddened to replace my MG60, Easton's magnesium 0rise-110mm but they do not make a 135mm. I wanted to move my weight over cockpit forward by 1" to help keep my front end down while climbing, so I went to a 135mm stem and took off my ea50 seatpost with a 1" set back and put on an LP carbon straight.Mission accomplished and if you are considering this stem...DO IT!Five flaming everythings because sometimes you get exactly what you pay for!
