$50.00 | | Strengths: | Good looks/finish, stiff feel | | Weaknesses: | Limited sizes | | Similar Products Used: | Syntace VRO (HeadShok) | | Bike Setup: | (multiple bikes) Cannodale F700, Seven Sola w/HeadShok Fatty Ultra DL, Seven Teres w/HeadShok Fatty Ultra DL | | Bottom Line: | Cannondale makes a really nice stem, but sizes are WAY too limited. Their stem lengths jump from 90mm ==> 120mm ==> 140mm, and the rise options jump from 5-degree ==> 20-degree. That's way too much of a jump (length & rise) to provide proper fit on the bike. Profile and Kore now make HeadShok stems, as well, so there is a little more of a choice (but at a much higher price).
It's evident by the numerous HeadShok-equipped bikes I've owned that I like the HeadShok fork! However, the stem limitations contributed to my most recent bike purchase (non-Cannondale) with a 1 1/8" steerer. It gives me much more flexibility for stem selection. With a better selection, the Coda stem would get a "5 Flamin' Chili" rating. Until then, it gets a "3". | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$50.00 | | Purchased At: | Cannondale | | Strengths: | -light -stiff -low price -reasonable quality -nice finish -reversible
| | Weaknesses: | The helicoils need to be inserted into the aluminum threads more securely. I accidently backed one out after very little use. | | Similar Products Used: | Nothing else on a C'dale. I've used the following on other bikes.
-Ringle -Syncros | | Bike Setup: | '00 CAAD 3 frame w/ full custom parts pick. | | Bottom Line: | There are not a lot of options here. Cannondale offers a reasonable product at a reasonable price. Even if there were more aftermarket stems to choose from I'd still run a CODA. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

from Houston Date Reviewed: December 25, 1999 | | Favoriate Trail: | CLOSED | | Duration Product Used: | more than 3 years | | Strengths: | Reversable Light | | Weaknesses: | Poor alignment Poor weld quality | | Similar Products Used: | What others? | | Bike Setup: | C,dale Delta V HT Headshock 97/98 XT Crosslands | | Bottom Line: | I have had three of these in the last three years, when I got my cockpit dialed in I got a silver -20dg 130mm silver. decided I didn't like the silver finish and ordered a black one. The black one was cut at a different angle, the clamp was off center and twisted, so I took it back and exchanged it. The second black one appeared to be aligned better but had really poor welds and a persistant creak. KORE dos'nt list any negative rise stems, could'nt find any information on Profiles. Found a new Syncros ($120 yikes!) nice looks, solid.
