| Bottom Line: | These skewers look really nice. They are 18 grams lighter than XT skewers. I'm a little worried about the flex of titanium, but for $15 they are worth a try. I think Airborne finally realized they were giving everyone too good a deal--last week the price on the website increased to $25, and this week it increased to $30. |

| Bottom Line: | For the money these skewers are great. I have had these skewers on my road bike and my wife's mountain bike for some time now. I ordered one pair with a pair of socks which are cool looking too, then I ordered a second pair of skewers. Shipping is quick, I had them in three days. |

| Bottom Line: | These skewers hold up perfectly to disk brakes, 4" forks, rear suspension & my heavy ol' Speedhub. The lever is centered over the axle so if you run discs, you can take your pick if you want to mount the QR lever on the left or right hand side and won't feel like you're making a compromise. Ordered these with the $5 Airborne T-Shirt. What a deal! |

| Bottom Line: | I bought a pair for my old road bike and a pair for my wife's hardtail. Performance-wise these QRs are great: they even beat the Salsas I have on my MTB rig in terms of easy opening and closing action. No slippage or clamping problems whatsoever. Speaking of the Salsa, since the Airborne skewers are such an obvious derivative of the Salsa design, the only bad thing I have to say about them is that the aluminum washer w/ delrin insert on the lever end of the skewer is about twice as thick as the Salsa washer. Combine this with the thick "arch" cross-section of the lever itself, and you have a lever that protrudes 25 mm beyond the dropout face. On a suspension-fork with beefy sliders, this difference is hardly noticeable, but on a sleek road fork the skewer does not cut a particularly graceful or aerodynamic figure. Airborne could very easily fix this problem by specing a thinner washer. The bottom line: Unless you make a living as a road-racer, the aero factor is not a serious one. Try and find another way to cut about 100g (compared to Shimano steel skewers) off of your bike for $15! A serious deal! |

| Bottom Line: | I finally have a Ti frame to match my Ti skewers! :) This is a follow-up review.... I have been using these skewers for 6+ months now and have had absolutely ZERO problems. Never loose! Never failed! Never a problem! You can't get any better in my opinion. For $15 how can you go wrong? Buy them if you are looking to save some weight and save some money. I ride all over the place and I weigh 180lbs. The only time I think about these skewers are when I'm standing around admiring my bike or when I'm removing a wheel to clean my bike. These are an excellent value! |

| Bottom Line: | While the front skewer does the job, the rear skewer keeps on wiggling loose. No matter how tight I cranked it down, the rear wheel would start to slip after about fifteen minutes of riding. First I'd hear a bit of chirping with the disk rotor hitting the edge of the pad, then the wheel would pop right out of the dropout. Switched to a spare set of (even cheaper) Deore skewers and the problem went away. They might work ok if you are a flyweight who doesn't bomb over roots and rocks, but I'll never put 'em back on a rear wheel. |

| Bottom Line: | I was in a race against this dirty spaniard. He kept calling me gringo even though I am clearly british. On the last hill he tried to break but I beat him because I had titanium skewers and he was eqipped with merely 6061 Aluminum (which we Brits pronounce "Alu-MIN-e-um") and I thusly trounced him. But too expensive. I miss my old bent, POS Joytech QRs, because I knew that I was able to buy at least a few brass spoke nipples with the money I saved. |

I have only been mountain biking for about 6 months and I love finding components that I don't have to mess with. I've read tons of reviews on this website and a lot of the skewer reviews on other brands complain about them coming loose and these puppies cost them $50+. I have some TITANIUM skewers that cost me $15+shipping and I never have to worry about them. Do ya think that's a value???? At this rate I can save enough to buy a Ti frame! I don't like the rating system as it can be very skewed (no pun intended), however, I am giving a 5 rating due to the fact that these lil guys are such a bargain. Enjoy! |
