Description:Rugged, baggy and brutally handsome shorts with an integrated liner provide all day riding comfort for serious pedal heads. Loose fitting but not excessive - so you won't get tangled with your seat on those steep descents ... but still maintain your composure when ordering up a short black.

Favoriate Trail:Hot X Buns, Gordies Gully
Duration Product Used:More than 3 years
Price Paid: $80.00
Purchased At:Ground Effect
Strengths:Comfort, durability
Weaknesses:none
Similar Products Used:Krank wear shorts similiar, but with no mesh inner, bit more style tho
Bike Setup:Yeti 575 race
Bottom Line:Very comfortable short, the inner is really good and with the mesh on the top of the thigh they run cooler than full lycra in summer nad dont hold as much water in winter/rain.
Never had a problem with rash etc even on 6 hr rides
Buy them you wont be disapointed.I will buy again
Nice length above the knee so no interference with seat etc
Check out thier Merino tops just got the summer short sleeve job and it is great even in 25 deg plus temps.

Favoriate Trail:Tom's Crossing
Duration Product Used:More than 3 years
Purchased At:groundeffect.co.nz
Strengths:Very comfortable, cool enough for Summer in WA yet indestructible. Still going strong after riding twice a week for 3 years and eating dirt or hugging a tree most rides......"you do the math" as you Americans love to say:
2 x 52 x 3 = 312.
Weaknesses:Conservative colour options
Similar Products Used:Will never wear lycra again
Bike Setup:Yeti 575
Bottom Line:Excellent shorts: really well designed and made.
Even better value than usual given crashing Kiwi dollar.

Date Reviewed: April 15, 2005
Duration Product Used:6 months
Price Paid: $80.00
Purchased At:Ground Effects
Strengths:Good quality construction & materials. Easy, straightforward ordering from Ground Effects, and didn't take long to ship from Oz to USA. Well vented and comfy for baggies.
Weaknesses:Ground Effects seems to have spared no expense making these shorts, so I'm puzzled as to why the bottom hem of the liners has no siliconized elastic grippers. The liner rides up in the first few minutes, and makes for a less-than-comfortable ride. Also, they could be just a bit longer.
Similar Products Used:Nema Crown Jewels (outstanding), cheap Canari baggies (barely worth what I paid), & classic Swobos (wistful sigh...)
Bike Setup:n/a
Bottom Line:Fine product, but the lack of the gripper thread on the legs means these pretty much stay on the shelf.

Date Reviewed: February 16, 2003
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $70.00
Purchased At:Ground Effect website
Strengths:Exellent pad and inner short, Ventilating pockets, very comfortable, very light nylon that is durable Did I say comfortable?
Weaknesses:Have not found any
Similar Products Used:Nema Sugoi zoic
Bike Setup:Wheels, seat
Bottom Line:I have been searching for the ultimate shorts.I found them. If you want a baggy,Functional, comfy pair of all day comfort get these. When I first received them, I could not believe how easy they went on.The belt keeps them secure and I forgot they were on.I have no resrtictive movements with them. They are realy comfy.I will be getting other products from the guys Down Under.Looks like the line of products were designed by MTbikers. The inner short is not too tight and my package is not crushed from all day epics. Before I would change my shorts immediately after. Not any more.Heaven.I will be getting the "Frosty Boy" long sleeve shirt and the "Ranchsliders" pants. Check out thier site and you will find something that fits your riding style.I never reviewed shorts before , but now I must spread the joy.
