$50.00 | | Purchased At: | Bent's | | Strengths: | Price. Comfort. | | Weaknesses: | Thin fabric will tear in a fall, but is easily repaired with needle and thread. Crothch area could be designed better to accomidate more comfort and space. | | Similar Products Used: | Same line | | Bike Setup: | Stock | | Bottom Line: | Good price, design could use more thought and thickness to fabric. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$50.00 | | Purchased At: | Supergo | | Strengths: | Comfortable, fits well until it falls apart | | Weaknesses: | Cheap construction, especially with stitching. After only a couple of rides, the stitching holding the chamois started to unravel. Well, i've been able do a little sewing myself to retard this unraveling, but after about a month of use, about one third of the stiching has unraveled. This same thing happened on a previous pair of Giordiana shorts I owned, and although I've noticed a couple of other shorts unravel a little, none has come close to the speed and extent that Giordiana shorts unravel. | | Similar Products Used: | Dozens of different pairs, Pearl Izumi, though expensive, seems to be the best. | | Bottom Line: | These were the most comfortable shorts I've purchased, but only for the first couple of weeks, which is why I purchased them, even though I knew that my previous pair of Giordiana shorts had some workmanship issues. Well, these shorts have the same issues. I don't recommend this brand to anyone who does a lot of riding, because they will fall apart, unless you're willing to do some sewing yourself. Hopefully Giordiana reads these reviews, because this planned obsolescence thing isn't going to work for me, as I will never purchase another pair until they address their workmanship issues. They can get 5 flamin chilis once they fix their hem issues. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$70.00 | | Purchased At: | green mountain | | Strengths: | Silverline bibs. Front and back padding. | | Weaknesses: | Crotch area not wide enough, tapered on sides and long enough. | | Similar Products Used: | Pearls and Fox | | Bike Setup: | Trek | | Bottom Line: | The bibs are great fitting, until there tried out on the open road. The crotch area seems to pinch, ouch! I would recomend these shorts for short distances only. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$60.00 | | Purchased At: | Supergo | | Strengths: | Giordana Silverline shorts Comfortable; Good fit; Doesn't creep, bunch, bind or bite; Stayed dry and felt cool in hot temps.
| | Weaknesses: | Used 'em ONLY twice with NO crashes or abrasion and stitching on lower elastic bands on both legs is coming apart! Doesn't seem to have been any kind of lock stitch on the threads' ends. It's not just loose ends though (wish it was); loop and stitch are both coming apart! | | Bottom Line: | May cost less than Pearl or like ilk, but it's still $60!!! and to put together a decent product and then blow it on the stitching is bad business, wasting the customer's time and money. Blame it on oem manufacturers and qc? I don't think so. It's made in Italy, not China (or that's what the label says). | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$60.00 | | Purchased At: | Local Bike Shop | | Strengths: | Extremely comfotable and they stay extremely dry. | | Weaknesses: | None yet. Longevity remains to be seen though. Haven't put a great deal of wear and tear on them. | | Similar Products Used: | Lousy In Motions. You'd be better off wearing Depends. | | Bottom Line: | This review is for Giordana's 8-panel short. Best quality is probably the lack of moisture that builds up on these puppies. Almost bone dry even after a long ride. I personally like the style of the short as the inseam seems to be a little longer than some others. That's just personal preference though. Very good short that is comparable to some high end Pearls at a much cheaper price. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$50.00 | | Purchased At: | online | | Strengths: | This review is for the Giordana Bib Knickers - these are not 8-panel shorts. In fact, I think these are 1-panel shorts. Strengths? Let me think about that... | | Weaknesses: | Yeah, lots of 'em. The chamois is not bad, no complaints. But the rest of the short? Buy these shorts if you clammy material that does not stretch with your body. I can't believe that these shorts passed any sort of real-world product testing. The fabric is the most uncomfortable feeling stuff I've ever pulled over my skin. And, like I said before, there no panels to speak of. Panels are good things because they allow the short to conform to your body. Hello, Giordana? Have you heard of these things? | | Similar Products Used: | Over the years I've used almost every brand of short out there. I've even had a pair of Giordana's that I loved and lasted a long time. Perhaps these shorts are unique in Giordana's line - I don't know. But do yourself a favor - buy a good pair of shorts and some knee warmers. Forget about these knickers. | | Bike Setup: | N/A | | Bottom Line: | The Giordana Bib Knicker is a poorly designed, highly uncomfortable short. Don't buy them. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

from London Date Reviewed: August 16, 2000 | | Favoriate Trail: | tailwind | | Duration Product Used: | More than 3 years | | Strengths: | Great fit, well-cut chamois, decent materials and workmanship. | | Weaknesses: | Padding could be a bit more generous. The lycra used has changed over the last couple of years so longevity of the newer models remains to be seen. Also, the pricing of the bibs (the only model I've used) has increased over the last couple of years after being $50 for years. | | Similar Products Used: | Assos Proline and PearlIzumi-all bibs | | Bike Setup: | Vortex | | Bottom Line: | Long lasting and great fitting. If they had a bit more padding, they would be my overwhelming choice over Assos Proline due to the latter's cost. A staple product of my cycling quiver over the years. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

these aren't themost durable short in the world--under heavy use mine started going threadbare after a couple of seasons. also, the chamois isn't very dense, so you can't where these shorts on rides longer than 2 hours without parts going numb. but, they are cheap and euro-cool. | Overall Rating: |

BEWARE: You may have to go WAY out of your way to locate and purchase Giordana shorts, but if you do, you'll never want any other brand in future. I accidentally bought a pair of their shorts, and now own bibs, Roubaix tights et cetera. The material and construction are excellent, and, most importantly (especially after long rides), they are SO COMFORTABLE!! Cinq étoiles! | Overall Rating: |

These shorts, (the Giordana shorts, not the Pearl Izumi shorts pictured above) are the best. The quality, the durability, the comfort, etc. are all incredible. I have their shorts, bibs, knickers and full length Roubaix tights. All highly recommended... | Overall Rating: |

got a pair or the paris-roubais bibs and they are the best cool weatheer knickers ever. well worth the $ for anything under 60 degrees. also after ridding in bibs i will never wear shorts with a waste band again. these bibs are super warm in cool weather but not too hot when it gets warm, have a great pad, nice sholder straps, and after a year+ (i bought them used from a pro who i'm sure put a few miles on them) they still look almost new. | Overall Rating: |

Best shorts around. They dont only fit like a glove but extremely resistant and durable. These shorts have met many trails, literally, and not a single little tear or even a thread. If you can get them on sale, which they do, get a few. | Overall Rating: |

I bought 2 pairs of the bib version of these shorts 2 years ago and will never wear any other kind. After nearly daily use these shorts are still going strong. I finally broke down and bought 2 more pairs and they are equals of the 1st 2 pair. These shorts are extremely comfortable because they are thin yet durable. Not as binding and hot as Pearl Izumi. The comfortable pad has nearly eliminated any problems down there. I give them my highest recommendation. | Overall Rating: |

Used to only get bike-short satisfaction from Cannondale's products (I'm obviously easy to please...), but a pro-stud biker buddy said he'd die before he wore anything other than his Giordanas, so when I found 'em on sale (and wore some unflattering holes into my 'Dales), I got a pair. All my 'Dale shorts will likely never see the sun again. Major comfy antibacterial pad, gripper elastic that doesn't impede circulation below mid-thigh, and 8-panels of lycra (or lycra/Coolmax if you wanna pay another $10) make for heaven at the skin/ environment interface. You want a pair of these shorts. You really do..., and at $40 through Performance Elite, they're twice as nice. Now if we could only give 10-pepper ratings... | Overall Rating: |
