a Downhiller
from Somerset Date Reviewed: August 7, 2000 | | Duration Product Used: | 6 months | | Strengths: | Smooth, plush travel and a chunky style. Good rebound, which can be adjusted externally. Reasonably light, its easy to pick the front of the bike up for jumps and drop-offs. | | Weaknesses: | Can be a bit to soft at times, no external compression adjustment, so its quite hard to make them harder, you have to change the springs/oil wieght. | | Similar Products Used: | RST HI5 (No where near as good as MX6) Shockworks DH1 | | Bike Setup: | MuddyFox ultimate frame, Fox Vanilla RC shock, Hope discs. Downhill only! | | Bottom Line: | Good fork, reasonably cheap and a pleasure to ride. They can take quite a beating and be fine. One problem is the lack of Stratos service centers in the south west. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |
