NONE, unless bloody loud counts. It served it's purpose for about a year and has since made me hate it... if that could only be a strength.
Weaknesses:
DNM is JUNK!!! This shock started to squeel within a year (just as other reviewers have noted). You have to lube the eye's constantly. Otherwise each rev of the pedals produces a horrid sound. Makes riding a pain (other riders stare when this puppy screeches) if you don't carry a can o lube around with you to re lube. I find a total cleaning of the rear bushing (the problem bushing in my case) gives me about 40 miles of screech free riding (about 3 days). A lubing gives me about 10 miles... This thing sucks.

Bottom Line:
This Shock, and this shock alone have caused me to hate my full suspension bike. I have a friend who has a Fuel 90 and his shock has never caused him grief. I have only 4000 miles on this thing, and it began to screech at around 800 miles. Either way I will never buy a DNM shock or bike with a DNM stock shock on it again. It's total junk.

Bottom Line:
This is good for beginners/intermediate but I've only had this bike for about 6 months and I'm already wanting to upgrade it to get a stiffer ride in the rear. But still good. Basicly I'd suggest it for riders wanting to get back in to the sport, good shock to start off with, but if your like me you will want to upgrade when you progress to harder and more difficult trails and such.

Strengths:
absorbs vibrations.
Weaknesses:
Develops sloshing noise quickly (few hundred km). Bike shop replaced it on warranty after 3000km (les than a year). The new one got noisy even faster and more noticeably, without even being exposed to a single ride in rain.

Bottom Line:
Simple and clean design, works OK if it works, but what if it fails out on tour? Damping barely adequate for a recumbent XC use with 1100 lbs/in spring. Would not recommend for an upright.
Informed opinion: entry-level product, fast deterioration reminds of fake product copies made in China. Suitable to leave a bad experience (twice in my case) and ruin customer's interest for suspension in general and DNM in particular. It's not the technology, cars and motorbikes get tens of thousands of kilometer out of their shocks. Overall negative value. My next bike will have no suspension.

Like everyone else says, this shock has no valving adjustment and there is some pedal bob, but for God's sake it's just a simple coil spring! What do they expect? I've done plenty of hopping around on it and have had no issues with bad seals or noise. By the way, the preload is adjustable and can be locked in by sliding the circular stop up or down the threads of the shock body. People need to realize that this shock isn't a Swinger or a Float, it is basic but it works.

Bottom Line:
I would rate this as purely an entry level rear shock. After one ride the rear bushes started squeaking like crazy (if you experience this give the bushes a short spray of Tri-Flow lube to fix it). After a couple of months of riding, the damper has gotten air in it and sounds awful (basically sounds like theres a load of water sloshing around in there). If you plan on doing some drops spend your money on something else.....this rear shock is purely for taking a bit of the roughness out of your XC ride, it certainly doesnt inspire any great confidence when riding down a rutted hill, and no matter how far i wound the preload in, there still seemed to be some degree of pedal bob whilst climbing even though i remain seated whilst doing so.

It springs and it dampens. Somewhat. Got silent after 200 km on the road. Integrated rubber bumper catches the worst when bottoming out. Spring preload adjustable, but ...
Weaknesses:
Damping too weak for 1100 lbs/in spring as used by bike mfg. ; bike has after-bounce. Preload adjustment stuck ater truning more than once.

Bottom Line:
Better than a hard tail. It absorbs regular road irregularities and helps to fly fast over lowered curbstones. After once adjusting preload up to where I need it and down all the way, I cannot get it back up in the previous position. I have strong hands, turn the spring together with the knurled nut as mfg. advises, tried silicone oil... it does get stuck and I do not want to use any lever. Now I'm bottoming out more often than necessary. Impression: entry-level, was probably spec'd because frame geometry handles only 125mm length. Looking for an air spring replacement already.

Well this came with my bike and truly and honelstly. It's s**t. The spring is a bit to stiff. And there are some big curbs in tokyo and this lasted a week there. I can't change it becuase I have to wait to I get some money. Then I'm buying a Romic or 5th element shock. I took the shock apart to see how it was doing and it was totally knackered the damping system had broke so there was no rebound or anything like that. I was running only on the spring so I was P****d. DON'T BUY THIS SHOCK. EVEN IF YOU ARE POOR AND CAN'T AFFORD A BETTER ONE. JUST WAIT AND SAVE MORE MONEY!!!

Not much travel.I took a 3 foot drop with the spring hard and they bottemed out. My cousins canadian tire bike get the same travel!!!!

No rebound adjustment, cranking up the spring rate with the adjuster knob is hard as you increase the preload. No lock out feature, no way to lock in your preload setting.

Great shock, excellent entry level product. increasing the preload is a beeyoch after you reach 1/2 way. Nitro charged coil over is sweet. Could use a shock wrench for the preload adjustment.

LOUD CREEKING- needs some sort of oiling, like mineral oil or even WD40 will work tough to adjust preload, unless you are incredible hulk, or taking it off the bike, adjusting it, and then putting it back onthe bike, only to find you have gone too far, and is incredibly stiff, like a hard tail. Geuss what? u have to do it all over again until you get it right!

bushings around the eyes must be oiled, or u will sound like bull frog with every bump you hit, resulting in embarrasment and fellow riders insulting you.
