    Favoriate Trail:hamilton
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
    Price Paid: $25.00
    Purchased At:my work
Strengths:light and grippy (where is the bmx part of the type of cyclist?)
Weaknesses:the magnesium is thin and blows up with little force
    Similar Products Used:nothing
Bike Setup:fit flow series frame, odyssey wombolt cranks, mg1 pedals, kink relief stem, macneil light bars, coalition camo seat(no seat post) hose clamps, g-sport rear wheel, odyssey 7ka fron wheel, shadow creeper forks
Bottom Line:dont buy these unless you just dj or mtb. Any street or even park riding will break these. I broke it at a skatepark with little force.

Favoriate Trail:To Many Good Ones To Choose From!
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
    Price Paid: $60.00
    Purchased At:High On Bikes
    Strengths:Lightweight & Well Finished
Weaknesses:Bent axle on first ride out!
    Similar Products Used:DMR V8's, V12's, Crank Brothers 5050x, Easton Cully's
    Bike Setup:Devinci Ollie
Bottom Line:Really disapointed I didn't get a descent length of time to try them out more, not sure how the axle got bent, can only think it must have been the tree stump I clipped but I didn't hit that very hard, I dont think the V8's would have ended up bent from it anyway, the V8's stood up fairly well to over 2 years of abuse but I wanted these to try and slim my bikes weight down. The MG1's had a little better pedal feel than the V8's I was using previously but think they would benefit from having slightly longer pins and a full length axle. I'll give them a 5 for value because they are very cheap for Magnesium pedals(Providing you have more luck than me), but only a 3 overall because I did bend one!

    Duration Product Used:1 Year
    Price Paid: $61.00
    Purchased At:JensonUSA & Taiwan s
Strengths:Very good grip, even for downhill, lightweight, cool colors
Weaknesses:Bearings are poor on the left pedal ?
Similar Products Used:Welgo MG52, Primo, etc
    Bike Setup:Yeti 575
Bottom Line:I love these pedals, unfortunately, the left one always give up after a few weeks ! I'm a lightweight rider and my ride is quite smooth... This is each time time the same story : the left pedal start to do some noise after around 100 miles, then after 400, the bearings just give up...
I have had the same story with 3 pairs (07 and 08). The 4th one is currently only making noise, and this for more than 4 months... I cross my fingers... because even with this caveats, I didn't find better pedals for the grip and weight.

    Duration Product Used:3 months
    Price Paid: $30.00
    Purchased At:ebay
    Strengths:Insanely lightweight, grip is great
    Weaknesses:none
    Similar Products Used:dmr v12
    Bike Setup:all rounder
Bottom Line:When some people hear the name Wellgo they think of bad quality. Little do they know, Wellgo actually manufactures pedals for many companies. Nothing bad I can say about the MG-1. It is the lightest platform pedal on the market, and the replacable pins grip pretty well too. Highly recommeded.

    Date Reviewed: February 6, 2008
    Duration Product Used:1 Year
    Price Paid: $45.00
    Purchased At:LBS
    Strengths:Light, strong, good grip
Weaknesses:cant think of anything right now
Similar Products Used:Many types of platform pedals
    Bike Setup:Specialized Demo 7 / Specialized Enduro
Bottom Line:I have two pairs of these pedals on my AM/XC bike and the downhill bike. They have been smashed into many rocks, been ridden in the mud and just plain abused for the last year. They still are still spinning perfect and the bushings are holding up well. I hate bushing play more than anything else and these have yet to develop any. Besides that they are super light and have a great feel to them and they are also relatively cheap compared to other high-end flat pedals. I would highly recommend these pedals.

    Date Reviewed: January 27, 2008
    Duration Product Used:2 Years
    Price Paid: $50.00
Strengths:Light! they sacrifice some grip in order to not kill your shins (defiantly worth it). If grip is a problem, wear 5.10's. There very strong as well.
Weaknesses:White is kinda crap colour but its slowly wearing away to leave a nice chrome metal look. I am having trouble finding replacement pins.
    Similar Products Used:plenty....
    Bike Setup:Urban/DJ/Park bike.
Bottom Line:One of the lightest pedals with plenty of grip you will ever need. Sometimes you can have to much grip remember. I find these just fine.

Weaknesses:paint flakes off like mad. red color is, um, really really red (careful!).
    Bike Setup:knolly delerium
Bottom Line:saves 1/2 pound and feels just as good as heavier pedals for the same $$, so why not. if they last a year, i'll be happy.

Strengths:Perfect pin length (easy on shins and grips really well). Slight concave shape. LIGHT!
    Weaknesses:None.
Similar Products Used:Old school platforms, SPD's
    Bike Setup:Cannondale Prophet 1000
Bottom Line:I do mostly tight cross country riding. I use SPD's for road riding, but have found I prefer platforms when riding trails (its great not to be connected to the bike when you go over the handlebars!!). These are fantastic pedals. They grip really well and are very easy on the shins. After 3 months of hard riding all the pins are still tight and the pedals are perfectly smooth. If you want an extremey light, well built pedal, for around $50, these are a great buy.

    Favoriate Trail:Dirt Merchant
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Strengths:Light, low profile, strong(so far), smooth.
Weaknesses:A 1/3 of the paint has worn off in only a couple rides. Has this happened to anyone else???? Not even from wacking the pedals on the ground, just from my shoes. . . strange
Similar Products Used:Axiom Road Gaps, NRG flats
    Bike Setup:VP Free, 888rc
Bottom Line:Wicked pedal, but should have been anodized or coated with a more durable finish.

    Duration Product Used:3 months
    Price Paid: $60.00
    Purchased At:Airbomb
Strengths:Quite light weight for the size and strength. Good bearings, solid grip, large platform makes engagement easy. Mine come painted white which helps visibility. I can use them with rather light soled shoes without any discomfort.
    Weaknesses:None found yet.
Bike Setup:Dean Torreys Ti cyclocross frame, Alpha Q CX fork, Velomax Orion II wheelset, SRAM/Avid components, FSA crank/bb.
Bottom Line:Magnesium is a great material for pedals -- light, strong, but not expensive. These pedals spin easy and don't add much rotating mass.

    Strengths:light wieght, durable
Weaknesses:dont spin for crap. Pins NOT replaceable
    Similar Products Used:NA
    Bike Setup:Titus Quasimoto
Bottom Line:I ordered these pedals while on teh way home from work. The Supergo guy wanted to sell me SPD Magnesium pedals. Anyway these arive in the sickly green color, but its original at least. First thing I do it test to see that all the pins are cinched down. Ummm big mistake turns out the pins are kinda glued in or something. I break 2 pins before realizing (the first on tightening the second upon lossening). I figure I'll replace these POS pedals when they break. Guess what? 2 years now and no other breakage. They still spin like crap, but dont have any play. The Magnesium has held up to corrosion. Bearing are fine. I must say I am fairly impressed. When I do buy new pedals, it wont be these, but I just might not like the ones I end up with as much as the MG-1's

Bike Setup:trek liquid 30 with wellgo mg-1's. everything else stock so far.
Bottom Line:this pedals rock. especially for the price. $25 plus shipping from jenson and these pedals stick like glue. careful though, b/c they will tear your shins up if you dont wear protection. wear guards, they are a must. not as light as generic platforms, but what are? lol. 380g/pair is damn nice for me.

    Strengths:Really light. Under a pound a pair.....
Weaknesses:None really - leg shredding, but that's any platform with pins.
Similar Products Used:Primo Tenderizer, Ringle ZuZu
Bike Setup:K2 Brass Monkey, Marz Z1SL
Bottom Line:Really nice pedals for the money. These are the $45 ones at Jenson, and are the same pedals as the Weyless Mag pedals from Supergo.
Nice wide platform on a fairly thin pedal body. They seem to be holding up well and have good grip with the pins. Not nearly as heavy as the big old Primos.
    795 grams for the primos!
395 grams for the Wellgo Mags
Nothing like taking almost a pound off the bike!
