    Bottom Line:I'm not sure why some people reportedly did not like the Finish Line Teflon Dry (red cap); this is by far the best lube I've ever used. With any wax product I tried I had to reapply about every 60 miles or the chain would start to make noise. With the Finish Line Teflon Dry I first used it I tested it and found I could go well over 400 miles without hearing a noise or reapplying the lube; it did however get very black. I clean my chain with the Finish Line Cleaner Kit and then relube my chain on an average of 125 to 150 miles and between cleanings the chain remains as clean as the wax stuff, but it last far longer. I also found that my chains only lasted about 5,000 miles on the wax lubes, but with the Finish Line product they last 12,000 miles average (I use the wider friction type of chain). I also noticed that there's less friction in the drivetrain then there was with the wax. I am so happy with this product there is no reason for me to try another product!

    Strengths:Super clean. doesn not p/up dust, dirt, sheds mud, snow, repels rain. Easy to apply. Does a great job for me & i ride pretty well year round in all kinda conditions
    Weaknesses:does not last much beyond 30-50 kilometers and is kinda pricey here in Canada. Takes about 15 minutes to set.

    Bottom Line:If you ride, you need this stuff. Easy to apply, non greasy/oily. Does not attract yuk. Does not p/up dust, dirt etc. Quietens drive train tho for best results (& who wouldn't want that?) 1st application should be on really clean chain so it bonds well.
    I'm big believer in preventative maintenance & Kry Tech is my first line of defense.
    It works for me.

    Strengths:It comes in a bottle with a hole in the top. That's about the only strength.
    Weaknesses:It is relatively expensive for the amount that needs to be used. I am lubing my chain every 2 or 3 days, or abut 60KM of riding. I can't believe that I ahve been using this stuff for over 3 years!!

    Bottom Line:If you feel like lubing your chain every couple of days, this stuff is fabulous. It works great on the cables as well, but as I said, wears away far too quickly. The shop I bought it from is way too pushy and all they carry is this stuff too. For the price, Finish Line Krytech is a bit of a rip off.

    Strengths:Finish Line's Cross Country (with the green cap) is great in the wet conditions. It lasts almost forever and seems pretty slick.
    Weaknesses:In dry conditions it seems to be a little messy, but there is no doubt that it is lasting.

    wipe off the excess and let it dry. It will go for many

    Bottom Line:If it's raining and really wet, go with it. Otherwise try something like ice or parrifin based lubes. I find that I have a lot of cleaning to do if I use the finish line stuff, no matter if I use a little or a lot (although it's worse if I use a lot). Sometimes I use it to sort of force me to clean my drive train, it is a good motivational tool. I also really like the cool foaming action that is hard to control. I give it 3 because of the foaming, good rain protection, and the motivation to clean afterwards.

    Bottom Line:Finish Line Teflon Fortified GreaseUse it evryware, stays put, So much nicer that the 5 year old gum that I have been finding in sum of my parts. Try to fing the $20 jar of it it will last forever. Kryteck is ok.

    Bottom Line:This product works well and I have not had anything but a smooth chain even in nasty conditions. The dirt seems to fall right off. Unfortunately, the dirt (at least in my case) must fall directly onto the rear derailleur pulleys and the chainrings. After a few relatively dirty rides I have to take a rag or a toothbrush and clean all the dirt off of the pulleys and rings. This is no big deal, and they are as good as new after I clean them, but it gets a little annoying. A 3 for its use as a chainlube and its tendancy to actract dirt to some part of the bike (not the chain though) and a 5 for its wonderful uses on a bike (see strengths, above) so a 4 total.

    Bottom Line:I've tried all three lubes (red.green, white caps)
    The White cap sucks most! it repels water & dirt moderately, and my chain starts having noise my after a few kilometers.
    The green cap is a dirt magnet (wet). i recomend it only to those who doen't care less abt their bike & woud only bother to lube their chain once in a long time.
    The red cap is slightly better off than the Red, But i only use it for my cables & fork.What can I say.. they all sucks if you are serious abt your bike. Use White Lighting instead.

    I've been using a combination of Finish line products for a while now, which has given me much success. First, I apply the Dry lube (red cap) to clean the parts and then apply the wax. It repels most sand and water. For the chain, I purchased a finish line chain scrubber that works great!!! I award finish line 5 steaming piles of shit.

    I bought a bottle of the Finish Line Teflon Fortiefied Lube and it works well. I have never had a problem with it. I don't know what could go wrong with a lube, but, this stuff works good. It is pretty well priced also. I need seven more words. Is that enough?

    Teflon Dry LubeI have been using this lube for a year now.
    Penetrates well when applied to chain and pivots (ie. brake).
    Picks up very little dirt in dry, dusty conditions.
    A synthetic oil based product, and not a waxed based product, which I trust more for true lubrication and less wear.
    Wears down after about 1.5 hours of hard riding, making it mandatory to reapply after every ride or during long rides.
    Never completely wears away, like some wax based lubes.
    Applies easy, without much mess and fuss.
    Works best when you apply a lot the night before your ride.
    I find it cleans the chain when I apply it using a cloth (it has a lot of solvent content), and therefore I don't need to do the big chain degreasing thing too often.Don't know how lube works in wet and muddy conditions, but I imagine it is not recommended for this type of condition. I think it repels water better than the wax lubes.Great, inexpensive lube for the weekend warrior who hates dirty chains and normally rides in dry or semi-moist conditions. But hey, a lube is a lube and not a real headlines grabber.

    I use finnish line cross country from a spary can. It costs loads, but if you've got a great bike, it's well worth it. It takes about twenty mins to set up properly, which isn't too bad. The feel of the lube once it's set up is excelent, it just feels like pure quality, and lasts through rain too. One downside though, it don't stay on for very long, you need to re-apply it about every 30 miles or so. Oh, and one more thing, it picks up quite a bit of crap, so remember to clean the chain before you lube it again

    I bought the Finish Line lube designed for wet and muddy conditions ( I forget the exact name but it has a green cap). I have never had such maddening chain suck problems in my life. I had to quit midway through three rides because the chain would catch every three to five rotations. I switched to WL and didn't have a single incident. If you want to put motor oil on your chain go to the gas station, look in the garbage, grab a discarded bottle and pour the remainder on your chain don't waste money on this nonesense.Nat

    Bottom Line:

    I use this lube for wet weather riding. Wet rides includes shallow creek crossings. though. As soon as you hit some water with wax lubricants they come straight off. It is quieter than wax lubes although it does suck a little more power. In dry, dusty condition I use wax. In the wet I give it 5 stars, in the dry I give it 3. I use finish line krytek for dry rides, although white lightning seems to be as good.

    I switched to the Finish Line Cross Country Wet lube after trying some White Lightning. This is a great lube if you ride in the wet or mud. I use it on anything that moves. It does not repel dirt as well as the White Lightning, but it actually lubricates which is more that the WL dry lube. Lasts too.

    I tested the Finish Line Cross-Country Lube by wiping it on my brake and shifter cables. I immediately noticed smoother shifting but did not notice any diiference in the brakes until I applied the lube to the brake pivots themselves. After applying it there, though, all the gritty sounds that would come from there were gone and the lube improved braking smoothness. I'm satisfied.

    I use F.L. Cross Country synthetic, and have only used it. I would venture to guess that compared to all the other 'new style' lube's users who eventually hate the Kry Tech, White Lightening and others this stuff must be preety decent. It seems to stay on fine, lubricate fine, and generally do everything fine. It seems all the other dry products are trying to compete with these 'wet' lubes mainly by trying to prevent build-up, but everyone is still degreasing anyway. Sure, I believe that some products are just superior in certain areas of the country, but here in the northeast USA nobody seems to agree on which new lube to use with the snow, mud burying the derailleurs, water while watching our bikes float downstream without us, and dry dusty dirt we encounter through the year.

    I guess I am one of the few who loves this product! I have always used the
    teflon fortified dry lube. I go through 2 bottles a season. Not bad at only
    $5.49 per bottle. The secret is to wipe the chain down after every ride and
    apply a small amount of the lube, then just before your next ride wipe the
    chain down again. As far as I'm concerned nothing 'repels' dust better. Since
    it doesn't rain much on my side of the state I can't give advice on wet weather
    lubes... :)

    Cross Country Lube, for fall through winter riding this is the best lube I have used for the chain. The chain stays lubed through wet rides and doesn't attract too much dirt, however, after most rides I will re-lube. The best part for me is the chain cleans up nicely with hot soapy water and a free wheel brush, I don't need degreasers. Summertime I use any dry lube.

    Cross Country FormulaThis lubes your chain extremely well, and is also brilliant in picking up small leaves, dirt, sand or anything else where you choose to ride. One good thing is that it's impossible for it to come of in a stream crossing.

    All I can say is that the Finish Line lubes are the best for slipperiness,
    water-resistance and color! :) I use the Teflon Grease on every part of my
    bike, including my RST suspension fork, DCD chain tensioner, seatpost, headset,
    hub and pedal bearings etc. The stuff is ultra smooth, with the teflon, and
    keeps everythin runnin smooth. It is good for winter, as it doesnt seize up.
    In the summer however, my only pet hate is that dust likes sticking to it.
    Other than that, an excellent all-round lube.

    The Cross Country lube by Finish Line is a wet lube. It's much thicker than
    their teflon lube, which is dry. This lube stays on much longer than their
    dry lube, but it also attracts a lot more dirt.
    This lube penetrates very well. Apply sparingly. One drop per link is all that's
    necessary.

    I tend to ride in wet and muddy conditions, so dry lubes don't work that well for
    me. I tried White Lightning Chain Lube, but that does not last very long, just
    about every ride I has to relube. The Finish Line Cross country lube is much
    better for the conditions I ride in. Although it is a wet lube, and thus doesn't
    look quite as clean when first applied as a dry lube, it protects better in nasty
    conditions and lasts longer.

    I've been using the Finish Line teflon dry lube for over a year. The lube dries
    very fast and penetrates well. The little tube which can be attached to the
    spray nozzle makes it easy to lube hard-to-get-to spots. But the spray is somewhat
    hard to control, and is difficult to lube the chain with. For easier chain application,
    get the Teflon lube that comes in a drip bottle.


    This lube is fairly clean. But it doesn't last very long. If you do a some creek
    crossing, it will wash off soon.

    I'm not impressed by this lube at all. It works well for a few days and it
    doesn't pick up as much dirt as other lubes I've used, but my chain begins to
    squeak after two or three weeks. It hardly lasts at all. A similar lube
    called Boeshield (If I remember correctly) lasts a bit longer.
