Just to give you an Idea we are hitting our trails at around 31mph in the day with this light Im able to hit them in the pitch black at 29-30 with 100% confidence in this light.
I wouldn't hesitate to buy this light again!

I've rode with it ON through miles of torrential rain near the Texas coast with no problems. No wonder, since the plug between the light and the battery reminds me of plugs that were meant to be submerged hundreds of feet under water. The casing for the light itself is no joke either, albeit probably not as water resistant as the plug.
I loved this light when I had all the parts. Seems like every bike I put the mount for it on gets stolen. :-P

The battery fits nicely in a water pack. It charges very quickly with Turbocharger. Extremely bright on 13W setting, a bit yellow at 10W though rideable for all but technical/rocky sections. I wouldn't trail ride at low setting unless burn time was a real issue or I was feeling really daring. What is amazing is that the beam remains the same brightness from start to finish on a 3 hr ride.
The helmet mount is a bit disappointing on a couple levels:
Issue 1: the vertical adjustment range is such that you can't mount the lamp on the front of your helmet unless you are willing to tilt your head back when you ride (otherwise you illuminate the trail just in front of your bike). Because of this, I am left mounting the device smack dab on top of the helmet where the next set of vents are located through which to thread the velcro strap. This leaves the lamp vulnerable to snagging low-hanging branches if you ride in the woods like I do. This issue may be more a function of my middle-of-the-road helmet than anything else and will definitely impact helmet purchase decisions in the future. A rubber shim under the mount may overcome the issue.
Issue 2: The lamp is screwed onto the mounting bracket, requiring you to remove the entire lamp/bracket assembly for daytime rides (lest you be whacking the low-hanging branches in broad daylight). This is a bit of a pain since the velcro wants to hang up on everything inside the helmet during mounting and removal (and isn't something to do in the dark!). Frequent removal will eventually wear out the strap and helmet padding.
Overall, the light rocks. You can focus the beam by adjusting the bezel. One of the reasons I purchased this system over the Jet Lites Phantom is that both mounting options come stock with Light & Motion. However, I have not yet tried the included handlebar mount system and may never since I ride mostly winding trails.

Took them out for their first ride. The light pattern is wide and even - it lights up the road from side to side. On dark side streets it lit up the homes lining the road! On Hi it is very bright. I would use this in situations where the road may be lit but with so much extraneous lights that I couldn't see my lights on a lower level. On most roads low or medium works well. The light pattern is expremely even on flood and lights up the road far enough in front of you that (on medium) I can cruise at 18-20 and feel like I'm riding during the day. It is a great complement and backup to the L&M Arc Lion HID that I bought at the same time (see my review for the Arc Ultra Lion). I've used it for some training rides and two overnight races. In both races I used the Ultra Lion battery and had the light on for 5 to 7 hours at varying light levels. The light never appeared to be on the verge of running out. With the Ultra Lion battery the light is estimated to have a burn time up to 11 hours, and I believe it. The light is so light you wouldn't know it was on your helmet if it wasn't for the cable. It's elegantly minimalist - the cleanest design out there. At 2 oz, it's half the weight of my old Niterider Headtrip, with a much nicer helmet mount. And while the battery is not as slim as my old Headtrip, neither is the new Niterider battery, and the L&M battery is still small and light enough that I can easily drop it in my jersey pocket. The plug is the best I've seen - really simple and solid.
Besides the weight, the coolest feature is the adjustable bezel. I've often said that I want a spot for the road and a flood for the dirt, and with L&M, I can have both. And it really works - quick and easy to go back and forth, with an excellent beam pattern.
While I'll never use this particular light on the bars, it has a couple of cool features for those who would. One cool feature is the side lights, for visibility - to light up the cyclometer, and with a dual system, to easily see which lights are on. The led shows the level as well on the Logic models. My old Niterider showed the battery level, but I prefer what L&M did - showing the light level.

This light is wonderful, everything it should be, and more.
I hope NiteRider replaces my unit with a new one so I can return it and buy a Solo Logic instead.

It is extremely bright - really catches the attention of drivers who probably think that a motorcycle or scooter is approaching. I don't have cars pulling out in front of me anymore - they wait. This is or is close to being the lightest weight light, and certainly the most compact design for bottlecage-type lights. The single light (rather than a dual beam) is fully adequate for commuting even on dark roads. Having three light levels is great for saving battery life when you don't need the full power.
