Strengths:Nicely put together. Perfect spread of beam width and distance for night riding. I use the helmet mount which works well.
Weaknesses:Battery lead a bit short, have to put the pack in my hydration pack.
Similar Products Used:A few time wasting LED and halogen lights.
Bike Setup:07 Stumpjumper comp, stock except for gravity dropper seat, 6" rear disk and shortened stem. But I don't think it will affect the lights...
Bottom Line:Hey this light is awesome, does what it sais and battery life seems to be as described. It's the first light that I feel safe riding with at night, with the 2 beam focus thing meaning I get an almost daylight reading of the surface and obstacles. On the road you get respect and dimmed lights from cars. Helmet mount is not too heavy but you know its there. There is an optional diffuser but the beam is so good I won't need it.

Strengths:LEDs never have to be replaced, lots of modes, tiny battery and smart charger
    Weaknesses:None
Bottom Line:I picked this light because it seemed to have the most bang for the buck. It comes with 4 light modes and just as many flashing modes. On full power this light is bright! It lights up the trails well, the throw is excellent, and the beams are white not yellow. The battery is tiny and lasts pretty long considering its size. I haven’t pushed it to its limit but after a 2 hour ride the battery indicator showed I still had more than an hour of light left. Overall it works great and was well worth the money.

Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
    Price Paid: $178.00
    Purchased At:ebay retailer
Strengths:Good brightness with long run times. Mounting bracket is easy to use and stays put throughout the ride. Robust casing. Very light package, I can't even notice the weight.
Weaknesses:The battery connector cable is a wee bit short...I would have liked to mount it to the frame instead of the headset.
Bike Setup:Stock KHS FXT, Fuji Newest w/ LOOK KeO pedals.
Bottom Line:A solid light that makes me feel safer on the road and confident in the dirt. The lengthy burn time is a huge bonus, I've been around town multiple times without even plugging it in. The light output is excellent and disperses much better than I thought it would out of the box, I may not even need the diffuser lens as a result. I couldn't find anything to compete with this setup at the price point I found and would suggest it to anyone looking to feel more confident, regardless where they ride.

    Price Paid: $250.00
    Purchased At:REI
Strengths:Battery life, high brightness, good "bang for the buck" value, many options on brightness and beam flashing, very well built/rugged, light weight.
Weaknesses:The mounting bracket does not have left/right adjustment. Light tends to tilt left or right after going over a large bump despite tightening the adjustment screw. Cord going to the battery is short limiting battery mounting options to the stem.
Bike Setup:07 Kona Jake, Crank Bros Candy C pedals. 08 Jamis Trail-X 3.0, Crank Bros Candy C pedals.
Bottom Line:Great light for the money. I want a longer cord so I can mount the battery on the top tube but it appears the helmet kit must be purchased to get the cord. It is bright enough that a driver became confused the other night and pulled over to see what was coming.

    Date Reviewed: November 9, 2007
    Duration Product Used:3 months
    Price Paid: $215.00
    Purchased At:Beyond Bike
Strengths:bright, small footprint on bike, easy mount/adjust, multiple light settings
    Weaknesses:none so far
    Similar Products Used:variuos halogens
    Bike Setup:Trek Pilot 5.2
Bottom Line:I ride rural roads in Upstate NY. The DualCross Pro is bright enough and more for this. It is much brighter than my 20W NiteHawk. Oncoming cars nearly always turn down their high beams and I only ride with med high setting. The side spill is very good. Beam pattern is perfect for shoulder riding. The light takes up little bar space. The new heavy duty mount is very secure. The Li-ion battery mounts easily to the stem or head tube. Run times are as advertised. The perfect light for me.
