Description:Cooler climes call for like-minded clothing. Arm yourself with the Cadence thermal top when the evenings are no longer balmy, or on those epic multi-day adventures into the back of beyond. Our lightweight micro-fleece 100 is irresistibly smooth making it the ideal thermal layer to wear directly against your skin. It hates water - wicking sweat away from your body to avoid chilling and dries fast if you take an unplanned swim.

Date Reviewed: March 6, 2004
Duration Product Used:More than 3 years
Price Paid: $45.00
Purchased At:Online from Ground effect
Strengths:Price, comfort and durabilty. My first one is 3 years old and showing no signs of age. It has a zipped rear pocket and two open top ones either side.
Weaknesses:While it takes the sweat off your body it tends to stay in the jersey. Thus when you put it back on it feels damp. I overcome this by turning it inside out to aid drying.
Similar Products Used:Standard roadie style cycling tops
Bike Setup:'96 Marin Nail Trail
Bottom Line:A value for money product. Can be worn year round but best for autumn/winter with a base layer. The long zip is great for aiding ventilation and the sewn in tyre repair patch is a nice touch.

Date Reviewed: December 18, 2002
Favoriate Trail:Afan Argoed
Duration Product Used:1 Year
Purchased At:New Zealand
Strengths:Versitile, lasts for ages, won't cost you much. Feels so good next to your skin.
Weaknesses:Be aware that a cold wind will blow straight through it, but then it's not designed to be windproof.
Bike Setup:Kona Kula, discs, SIDS, carbon bits and pieces, XT, Koobi saddle.
Bottom Line:Smooth and silky to the touch, wicks sweat away quicker than you can produce it. Long front zip and arms you can easily pull up, allow you to keep cool, and a high collor keeps your neck warm on chilly days. Isn't windproof though, so you'll need something ontop of it on cold or windy days. Excellent as a base or mid layer in winter or as an outer layer in Spring / late summer.
