    Date Reviewed: October 18, 2002
    Favorite Trail:Not yet been there...
    Duration Product Used:1 Year
    Purchased At:Came with C-dale SV700
    Strengths:Industrial bearings, quite light
Weaknesses:Orig. bearings and freewheel, 4-bolt disc
Similar Products Used:Magura LouisePro, Shimano XTR/XTdisc/XT/LX, Mavic X-Link
    Bike Setup:C-dale SV700 -00 (Europe), Finnpeak fpc-02
Bottom Line:XC weight saving taken to maximum with the original bearings; one ball missing... ;o)

After changing the original freewheel (broke after few hundred ridden kilometers) to SRAM and the original cheap crap bearings to decent ones have this hub done quite well. After those updates I haven´t had any problems with these wheels what comes to hubs (but the Expert rims are made from butter-like alloy and the spokes, snap-cracle-pop)...
With new rims and spokes these hubs might be under my bike, but the original setup is now waiting for the day if/when I broke another wheel in use. And only for temporary "first aid" use...

Attention: Chilis given to the modified hub!

    Date Reviewed: July 14, 2002
    Duration Product Used:2 Years
Strengths:It's ok...I guess. The whole bike is wonderful- only weakness is in the braking system and hubs.
Weaknesses:Like most Cannondale "innovations", there are many problems. The latest in my string of bad luck with my Coda bits involves the replacement of my freehub body. Only Coda tools, and a Coda freehub body will work with this crappy, now defunct system....and a nice three week wait to get the parts shipped here is what I have to look forward to! I am sick of all of the problems with my Coda system!
    Bike Setup:1999 Cannondale F900
Bottom Line:Any one looking at discs.....steer clear of Codas!
Cannondale has a great warranty, and their techs at HQ are very helpful....but come on guys.....the recall list on the Cannondale site is as long as War and Peace. My first set of Coda competition discs leaked hydraulic fluid- they were promptly replaced with the new "Comp" version. Not as many problems with these....but they are still problematic. I am also very disappointed in the entire process of a simple repair/replacement. The whole Coda disc brake system(Levers, hose, calipers, hubs) was/is a big failure!

    Favorite Trail:bukit timah
    Duration Product Used:1 Year
    Purchased At:comes with the bike
    Strengths:it's light
Weaknesses:(this is just a follow-up for my review)
    it's still a 4-bolt hub
Similar Products Used:dt swiss hugi disc hub
    Bike Setup:cannondale f700
Bottom Line:just a follow-up...i can't blame myself for deciding immediately about its faults. i guess we're all learning and being educated with the products we're using. just a small note,,,the bearing specified by CODA is KB6000 and KB6200. well if u'r going to buy this at cannondale it's like ur buying gold. this bearings are actually made by SKF. so for KB6000 = 6000-2RS1 and for KB6200 = 6200-2RS1. i bought this both at about US$2/ea.
i have no complain with the housing n d axle...it's just d bearings. better replace all when 1 of d bearing break.
i upgraded my rating...but it's still 4 flamin' chillis 'cos of the 4-bolt pattern.

Favorite Trail:bukit timah, bagac trail, daraitan trail
    Duration Product Used:1 Year
    Purchased At:comes with the bike
    Strengths:you can use it
Weaknesses:as i said, you can still use it before it gives you a lot of trouble
    Similar Products Used:xt hubs
Bike Setup:cannondale f700 2001 (mainly no more CODA stock!)
Bottom Line:i have read a lot of reviews with this hub. unfortunately this is my very best review in this website. just wanna read those comments, and i'm quite happy that it really help those guys who buy and upgrade a lot. for my experience after 1yr of using this hub, i guess it's starting to give you the maintenance it needs.

it started to give me a grindind noise whenever i do a freewheel,,,so i checked it and as everybody had said, it's no surprise...the sealed-cartridge bearing in the non-drive side is not smooth anymore, well i don't want to inspect and elaborate further...the bottomline is when you have this product,,,use it, then you decide whether give her another chance for maintenance or replace it with other reputable products. for my part, the 4-bolt pattern is really making me sick. i might give her another chance, just replace the cartridge-bearing one more time...then afterwards, let's wait for my next review.

for the meantime, don't buy this separately...if it comes with your bike,,,your a lucky guy! i'll give her 3 flamin' chillis 'cos she served me for 1yr.

    adios!
