Submitted by wheezee a Weekend Warrior from UK
    Date Reviewed: September 3, 2008
    Duration Product Used:1 Year
    Strengths:Light, well vented
    Weaknesses:Rather large profile
    Similar Products Used:none
Bottom Line:You can forget you have it on, it's so light. The vents work well. So well in fact that my head froze in spots on a winter ride (and I had a thin hat on).

It seems a bit large in profile on my head. Puts me in mind of a showjumper's helmet. Probably I have a narrow head or something.

    Duration Product Used:3 months
    Price Paid: $40.00
    Purchased At:LBS Cartimar
Strengths:Nice design/colors, venting system works well, front visor helps in glare. Straps easy to adjust on ears.
    Weaknesses:Chin strap kinda stretches loose......
    Similar Products Used:Michelin Street series
    Bike Setup:stock 2008 Jamis XC trail 3.0 24s disc
Bottom Line:This helmet is great, from the design, colors, venting system and visor which gives me some sun/glare protection. plus, the Bell brand is well-known in both Motocross and Formula 1 racing. Highly recommended!!

    Duration Product Used:3 months
    Price Paid: $30.00
    Purchased At:LBS
    Strengths:Light feel, comfortable
    Weaknesses:None really
    Bike Setup:Yeti 575 -
Bottom Line:To start, I'm 185lbs, I had a nasty endo wearing this helmet going head first into ground from 4 feet. Cracked it in 2 places, but got up and rode away.. I hit at the top of my head but the impact was hard enough that my far-head bruised.. this helmet did it's job. Back and neck are sore..

    Favorite Trail:the next one
    Duration Product Used:1 Year
    Price Paid: $35.00
    Purchased At:pricepoint.com
Strengths:light, good fit/adjustment, vents well, good price
    Weaknesses:pads could be better
Similar Products Used:dept. store crap, bell influx
    Bike Setup:xlt 1.0, nixon, bb7, evolve, x.9, mavic 819, hutch spider
Bottom Line:when i compared the listed weights for this helmet and the influx, within 20g of each other, i couldn't believe it -- the slant feels HALF as heavy on the head! after a year in this helmet, i'd buy another in a SECOND! the only real advantage the influx has/had over the slant is the feel of the pads -- influx is a touch softer on the skin. i noticed last summer, also, that i dripped less sweat with the slant -- better venting, more evap.

    oooohhhhhhh, yyyeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh...........i'll have another one!

Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
    Price Paid: $39.00
    Purchased At:Dick's Sporting Goods
Strengths:Looks good, fits well. Looks like it can take a beating
    Weaknesses:None right now
Similar Products Used:Older Trek helmet and Shwinn Rocket 2 helmet
Bottom Line:I have hard time finding a helmet that fits my head well and this one seems to do the job. It cools well with the 21 large vents. It adjusts well and stay on the head. It's pretty light too...

Favorite Trail:Anything that takes me somewhere else.
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
    Price Paid: $29.00
    Purchased At:Nashbar.com
Strengths:Great fit, comfort, stylish, keeps you cool
    Weaknesses:None at this time
Similar Products Used:Older Specialized atb helmet.
    Bike Setup:98 GT Timberline FS
Bottom Line:This helmets fits great and is a snap to adjust properly. The large multiple vents keep you very cool while riding even on hot days. The vent is kinda useless and flimsy, but it can keep some brush out of your face. Im not sure what other reviewers are talking about with poor quality, since helmets pass preset standards in this country, but remember, a concussion is less sever that a skull fracture, or worse.

    Date Reviewed: June 23, 2007
    Duration Product Used:1 Year
    Price Paid: $30.00
    Purchased At:Performance Bike
Strengths:Cheap, not sure that's a strength though. You get what you pay for.
Weaknesses:Had a low speed crash and still got a concussion. Invest in something that will actually protect you. This looks like a good helmet, but looks aren't everything. Any other crash at that speed wouldn't have been significant had I been wearing any other helmet.
Similar Products Used:Countless, go through them pretty quick, had this one lying around when used. I once used a protec downhill and crashed hard. I was easily going 3 times faster at that time and came out fine.
    Bike Setup:GT I drive 5
Bottom Line:Do not buy or use. A good helmet is cheaper than a hospital bill for head injuries.
