none! except it is shiny chrome |
| Weaknesses: |
Broke after less than a month of freeriding |
| Similar Products Tried: |
FSA PIG DH |
| Bike Setup: |
Specialized P.2, hayes discs, truvativ cranks, shimano shifters/derailer, Specialized Roller tires (they are the bomb), Sun Ditch Witch rims |
| Bottom Line: |
The Tank is the complete opposite of what the name implies and the only reason i rode with it for the month it lasted is because it came with the bike, and then it broke and i had to replace it. The Tank headset should not be purchased by any REAL downhiller or freerider! |

tuff cro-moly construction, cool cap with a hallow bolt so you can run your front brake thru the steer tube. |
| Weaknesses: |
I guess its a little heavy... |
| Similar Products Tried: |
AheadSet SX-1, FSA PIG DH |
| Bike Setup: |
Specialized P.3, TANK headset, Radical stem, Giant bars, Marzocchi Z-1 drop off forks, Tioga tires, Sun Rhyno Lite rims, shimano drivtrain, shimano vee brakes w/ boosters, Axiom seat, tektro brake levers, welgo flat pedals... |
| Bottom Line: |
great headset. If you thrash through headsets and are sick of having to replace them, this is the way to go. Don't get this if you are an XC rider. this is a great headset for the sick-minded adrenaline junkies. |

4130, baby! It's strong, and has very thick cups. It holds up well to BMX thrashing. It stays adjusted much better than old school 1" threaded. |
| Weaknesses: |
Kind of heavy (for a headset) The nickel plating chips off if you use a cable detangler, and the dustcaps only act to catch dirt inside the bearings, so you'll have to overhaul it more often than with a true sealed headset. It was expensive from LBS, but you can get them mail-order or online for under $30, minus shipping. |
| Similar Products Tried: |
Aheadset SE, various threaded headsets |
| Bike Setup: |
2000 K2 DMC |
| Bottom Line: |
If you can find it for fairly cheap, and don't mind overhauling your headset frequently, this headset is for you; but if hate working on your bike, and want somehing that is 'set it and forget it' it is well worth the extra money to go sealed. |

Man,this thing is one tough mutha.6 months of thrashing and it hasn't come loose once. You will probably snap the frame before you break this.I just took it apart today, and everything is still in perfect order.Probably the single best headset you can buy for under $50. |

This thing is built like a tank, hence the name. Saved me from buying a new frame due to an ovalized headtube. The cups are deep and strong. |
| Weaknesses: |
None it is a tank countries go to war with tanks. None compared to the tange welfare headset that specialized used on my big hit. The forks were takin out to see why the headset was always coming loose, reason the tange piece of crap was destroyed. It does not come in camo color. |
| Similar Products Tried: |
raceface, tange |

Specalized bighit 2000 fully tricked out. |
| Bottom Line: |
Bottom line, buy this headset and you will not be sorry. Buy a tange and you will be sorry. I have been using this for 6 months and no problems to note . |

If you come by it buy the son of a gun. It's strong. It'll be the last headset u ever need to buy. Totally reliable!!!! To bad I can only go as high as 5 bananas. I would give it ten in both catagories. |
