| FavoriteTrail: | Rocky Hill Ranch |
| Duration Product Used: | 3 months |
| Price Paid: | $40 |
| Purchased At: | Pricepoint.com |
| Strengths: | Its nice looking and when it works, it works very well. Stayed tight till it broke. Rolled smooth. |
| Weaknesses: | The top cartrige bearing broke :( I run a Gary Fisher Cake 3 with a Marzochi All Mtn # fork on the front (5 in travel free ride fork). It cracked under a VERY hard stop while on the front brake (Hayes 8"). This was no trivial panic stop but I would have expected it to survive. Sounded like a 22 caliber rifle firing when it broke! |
| Similar Products Tried: | Cannondale head shock - various headsets, really never paid much attention... |
| Bike Setup: | using an all mtn bike for cross country cos it soooo plush... |
| Bottom Line: | Headsets work great or they dont - this one worked great until the top cartrige bearing broke - Ive done worse to lesser parts with no problems. Cant recomend Im afraid - however the Cane Creek Thudbuster seatpost is positively bullet proof and worth every penny - get one! |

| FavoriteTrail: | The skinny dirt one behind the tree |
| Duration Product Used: | 1 Year |
| Price Paid: | $41 |
| Purchased At: | Fat Tire Farm (lbs) |
| Strengths: | Race and bearing construction |
| Weaknesses: | Thin race lip requires special tool for fork race removal. |
| Similar Products Tried: | King No-Thread, DiaComp, Aheadset C-2, Cane Creek S-2 |
| Bike Setup: | This has been on two forks and two frames setup as XC hard tails with light jumping use |
| Bottom Line: | It is a good cheap headset. Still smooth with only one disassembly for cleaning. I believe in the angular contact bearings now. |
