Bottom Line:I only bought this bar since it was on clearout and it was blue. A nice strong, lite 140 Gram EA70 bar. Too bad the company doesnt care about its customers when it comes to customer service or even keeping their web page up to date. Don't be surprised if they close their doors soon. Warranty. I won't bet on it.
Still a bar is a bar so...

Bottom Line:A very simple bar. Worth the money. Ends crimped a little after 1.5 years, but that's OK B/c I was sick of barends anyway. good, reliable, but since I can get a riser that's the same weight (Easton Monkey Lite) I'm going to get that for this year. Will keep the good old ControlTech around in case of failure though. 5 flaming pieces of S#!T

Bottom Line:

These bars rule. Been using them for years without a single failure(replaced every 1-2 years, anyone who doesn't replace their bars is a f*@$#ing moron). This winter I bought an Azonic bar because it wider. Bent it in 2 months. Did the same to a Qranc bar a few years back. Control Tech has never let me down. Back to basics, no need to try anything else again.

bought the bar with my ti bike in 1995. just got a new frame cause my ti frame has a crack in the upper seat stays. the bar will go on my new frame. great bar. what more could you you ask from a flat alloy bar? worth the $39.00. i'd buy another.

Bottom Line:

Okay, here's a staight and simple review. Do some shopping and the Control Tech Bar can be had for under $30 mail order. There's nothing special about it, although it is strong, light, and reliable. I don't know how Mike in Ohio crimped the ends of this bar without tightening his bar-end clamps with a hydralic press, but check out Big Rick--he's 270 and lovin' his Control Tech! I'll give it 4, not 5, flaming bacons only because it's a pretty bland bar. But aren't most straight handle bars bland?

Bottom Line:

I despise this handle bar. I have been riding it for four months, and the ends of it crimped! I was using a plug that came with my bar ends and they crimped. This shouldn't happen. I bought a new Syncros bar that is ten times better then the Control Tech. Do yourself a favor and don't buy this bar.

Bottom Line:

I have been riding this bar for two years and have had no problems.I have ridden in technical singltrack and weeklong tours on gravel roads. With over 4000 miles on the bar, it is still in great shape. It is lightweight, affordable and durable that is a worthy addition to any bike. The only drawback to the control tech bar is that it is a little wide. This trait is something that you adjust too, or just cut it down. I give this bar four and a half flaming things.

Date Reviewed: January 24, 1998
Bottom Line:

Good bar, lightweight, won't slip from handlebar and the Controltech words will last for a long time. Mine was a little too long (26inches), so I sawed an inch off each side and lost some weight too. Comes in a range of colors, mine's silver - looks like a more expensive bar. Shop around, prices can go as low as $30 (Nashbar in late 1997)

Bottom Line:

Iv'e used these bars for 2.5 years now and love them. I'm a heavy rider (270lbs.} and pound on them, no problems. I really crank down on the bar end bolts too and haven't kinked them either. Worth the money.

Bottom Line:

Straight forward, no none sense handle bar. I've my current one for almost two years, it looks good as new. During the same time period I have replaced both front/rear rims, new helmet and a bunch of doctor office visits. The ends of the bar seems to be thicker than Answer Hyperlite, and it only weights 150g.

slightly heavier than my friend's titanium handlebar.
