Favoriate Trail:Brown moutain
Duration Product Used:More than 3 years
Price Paid: $10.00
Purchased At:REI
Strengths:A variety of positions to grab on.
Weaknesses:none
Similar Products Used:none
Bike Setup:Trek 7000
Bottom Line:I've used this bar on three of my bikes and I love it. You have a comfort position, a climbing position, a aero position. I use Tektro brake lever extenders to brake while holding the bar end area. I also customized it so that you can brake while in the aero position on a downhill ride. I have three of these bar and will never sell them. The best ever.

Favoriate Trail:All in resonable distance from my place. Colorado and Utah for holidays
Duration Product Used:More than 3 years
Purchased At:Somwhre in Washingtom DC in 89
Strengths:Perfect design : compact, multi hand position - including areo which can be used for relax you back on long rides - and definitely a wind occurs when X-C'ing.
The safety for bike control in bush and hand protection are incomparable - can thrust cow's horns without beeing one.
Weaknesses:Impossible to find a new one , or the spare parts - only one is necessary - but paramount - the BAR END CONNECTOR - this is a plastic part which eventually (is my case) will be cooked out afer some years of exposition riding conditions and sun.
Similar Products Used:NA
Bike Setup:Used it on three different bike it always worked well.
Bottom Line:Who knows where I can find a new one or replacement part (prefferebly)

Date Reviewed: March 8, 2001
Favoriate Trail:Anywhere I can get
Duration Product Used:More than 3 years
Price Paid: $40.00
Purchased At:Some bike shop in NY
Strengths:Very light, integrated bar ends, extremely durable
Weaknesses:Can't find them anymore. Could be a little wider. Curved bar ends make it more difficult to get shifters/brake levers on.
Similar Products Used:Cheap steel bars
Bike Setup:'97 Jamis Dakar, Manitou SX-R, XT/LX stuff, Avid brakes
Bottom Line:These bars are great. They have held up to 5 years of use, abuse, crashes, and the like. By now they look pretty nasty, but I won't trade them for anything. I've cut the bar ends down so they aren't so long, and it makes them even lighter and a little less dorky. Even cut down, they have all the positions I could want and make for a comfortable ride. The only complaints would be that getting control stuff on and off is a little more difficult and that they could be a little wider for broad shoulder people.

Date Reviewed: January 7, 2001
Duration Product Used:2 Years
Purchased At:mail order
Strengths:Very light design. Has proven to be a strong bar in my many crashes. I actually have the AT-2 which is a little lighter at 250g.
Weaknesses:I ever were to break these, I wouldn't be able to replace them since Scott doesn't make them anymore.
Similar Products Used:Bontrager
Bike Setup:Klein Attitude Comp
Bottom Line:Nice design. Very light setup if you want barends since the bar and ends are all one piece.

Wish someone would make a similar product since Scott won't anymore.

Date Reviewed: December 23, 2000
Duration Product Used:More than 3 years
Strengths:strong, light (290g.), good angles, these have saved my hands several times from branches and wrecks.
Weaknesses:Scott does not make them any more and I haven't seen anything else like them.
Similar Products Used:Titec hellbent, Easton monkey
Bike Setup:Voodoo Hoodoo
Bottom Line:I have had these bars 6 years and keep moving them from bike to bike. They are light, durable, and you don't have to add on heavy bar ends as they are already there!!!

Submitted by Walker a Cross Country Rider from Jamestown, Ny
Date Reviewed: January 16, 2000
Duration Product Used:1 Year
Bottom Line:I rode with these bars for about a year. They where great, although i wish for a little more angle on the upper grips. They even stood up to a hit by a car. The bike got toss 20' into the lane of traffic and the bars didn't bend, did scratch a little though. I upgraded to a cheap pair of steel one piece bars, lee chi's. They are cheap but the have the angles i want.

Favoriate Trail:
KVR
Duration Product Used:
more than 3 years
Strengths:
Multiple hand positions
Lighter than bar ends
No bar end bolts to gouge your knees
Saves your knuckles from getting smacked with branches
Weaknesses:
Scott doesn't make them any more
Stem sleeve rotates on bar, not bonded together
Similar Products Used:
Original straight bar that came with bike
Bike Setup:
Old GT Avalanche (steel one), Indy XC
Bottom Line:I've been using these for about 8 years, love them. I guess I'm the only one as there wasn't a page for them and Scott doesn't make them any more. They are still for sale in catalog clearance sections and on sale tables at your LBS.
