    Favorite Trail:Sunview
    Duration Product Used:1 Year
    Price Paid: $29.00
    Purchased At:Price Point
Strengths:VERY light, I love the glass bead finish and looks.
    Weaknesses:None at all.
Bike Setup:Marin Novato Triple Butted 7005 Aluminum Edge Tubed Frame, Mavic Crossrides, Bontrager Comfort K Hardcase Tires, Rock Shocks Jett 2, Kore Elite XC Comp Handlebars, Kore lite 3 Stem, Avid Arch Rival V-Brakes, Avid Speed Dial SD 2.0L Brake Levers, TruVativ 5D Crank, WTB Momentum Comp ST Headset, WTB Rocket V Saddle, Sette 7 APX seat post, Shimano XT Derailleurs, Cateye Wireless 7 computer, Profile briefs bar Ends, BLT mini-Doppler Light.
Bottom Line:I had the riser bars that came with my Marin. As soon as I put on the Kore Elite Bar I noticed a big difference! This bar is light, looks great and has withstood the punishment i dished out in a years worth of riding so far! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

    Favorite Trail:None
    Duration Product Used:3 months
    Price Paid: $13.00
    Purchased At:EBay
Strengths:Strong, Light, the glass bead finish looks spectacular
Weaknesses:Only comes in a straight bar

Bike Setup:2002 Trek 4500 16.5 frame, With Kore Lite Stem, Kore Elite Bar, Marzocchi Z.4 air 80mm fork. Stock everything else.
Bottom Line:I Look like a football player, and weigh 260lbs. Easton aluminum can take a beating. even off the small drops, which for me is the same as a 10 footer. I you want light weight without losing strength, this is it.

    Duration Product Used:1 Year
    Price Paid: $30.00
    Purchased At:Hibike
Strengths:Light, nice finish and design, holds out.
    Weaknesses:None so far.
Similar Products Used:Concept, Syntace, Ritchey Comp and Pro.
    Bike Setup:Trek 9900 OCLV
Bottom Line:A good product. I put 220 lbs on it, and it just endures. Very nice finish, too. Since I tend to change the handlebar once every two years or after a crash, I bought some new ones in red (they are cheap at my local dealer, now, and the black ones have run out already). Well, don't. They are more a kind of pink, in fact, and look somewhat ridiculous. The one and only straight handlebar which might beat it: the Syntace Duraflight. These are only available at 9° and 12° bend, now. The 6° which I used are obviously no longer made by Syntace. So byby for me with Syntace.

    Favorite Trail:Deer Run
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
    Price Paid: $19.00
    Purchased At:Cambriabike.com
    Strengths:Lightweight, strong, and inexpensive.
Weaknesses:It has to put up with my abuse.
Similar Products Used:broom handle, crowbar, twigs of assorted sizes.
Bike Setup:Giant Iguana, Thomson, Velomax, Titec, Kore
Bottom Line:I'm used to a riser bar and thought I'd try a flat. I'm still getting used to it, but noticed a difference when hauling flat out. I'm 210 pounds and this light bar scared me at first, but it's stronger than it looks. I'm still working up the nerve to do a decent drop on it. Definently recommend it. Can you think of a reason not to get one for just $19?

    Date Reviewed: January 11, 2001
    Duration Product Used:2 Years
    Strengths:Strong
    Light
    Looks
    Weaknesses:Alu vibration
    Bike Setup:Giant ATX-890 frame (coldrock), Marzocchi z-5s, Hope XC-4s on Mavic x317 / x618, XT and ESP 7.0
Bottom Line:This is a good bar (I have the Lite Bar 2 at 160g, only cost £8 on offer mailorder. It is light and strong - surviving some rough XC races and the South Downs Way challenge (100 off-road miles) last year no problems.
The only downside is that on rough descents the vibration through the bar can be quite severe - as with most bars (although maybe spring-based forks might make for less vibration coming through the controls). If you want a good XC trail bar and aren't convinced by the riser thing go for these.
But is you ride rough and have oodles of cash get a Carbon Easton bar as they are meant to absorb a lot of the shock you can get.
